Charming cottage with panoramic views of the bay
Perched above Brixham's bustling harbour, Rock Cottage is a deceptively spacious semi-detached home boasting panoramic views over the outer harbour and out to sea. The huge picture window and outdoor terrace command views that are unrivalled in the town. Rock Cottage is just a 2 minute walk to the harbour area boasting family pubs, restaurants and quaint independent shops. This large cottage sleeps 6 and is pet friendly. Stay here for unrivalled views and summer evening sunsets.
The cottage is set over four floors offering plenty of space for families and larger groups.
When you first walk in you will see the sitting room with the large picture window overlooking the harbour offering stunning views of the harbour and marina. Well equipped with plenty of board games, comfy seating as well as a desk and chair facing the views should you require a desk area.
On the lower ground level is a large open plan kitchen equipped with a large gas range cooker, integrated dishwasher and a washer dryer as well as being well equipped with crockery and cooking utensils. There is a family size fridge freezer as well as a kettle, toaster, microwave and a Nespresso machine. There is also a spacious dining area and table facing the french doors which directly lead you to the terrace where you can enjoy an early morning coffee while you take in the beautiful Marina views.
There is also a small bathroom located on this floor.
On the first floor there is a bedroom with a set of full size bunk beds overlooking the harbour - children love this room! Next door is an attractive double bedroom featuring a king size bed, a chest of drawers and a dresser unit. There is a large family bathroom also featuring a bath and shower.
On the top floor there is a spacious bedroom with a double bed and a sofa bed if required and the Velux windows provide views of the harbour and breakwater. The en-suite has a walk in electric shower cubicle as well as toilet and sink.
The garden is easily accessed on the ground floor and is secure and private.

Neighbourhood description
Famous for fishing, art and those colourful houses lining the harbour, Brixham is one of the busiest fishing ports in the UK and is home to some of the finest sea food you can think of, but it isn’t just about fishing. Brixham is also rife with art and culture and has several unique attractions suitable for the whole family.
Brixham is a great destination for art lovers, the town has a great range of art galleries that feature local artists as well as showcasing visiting installations. On the Strand, you’ll even have the opportunity to see artists working.
The town also boasts a museum and tours around the coast so you can get a real taste of its maritime heritage. Brixham is the home of the Golden Hind replica, a recreation of Sir Francis Drake’s flagship. Visitors can experience life on board and explore all five decks, it’s a great exhibition for kids learning about the Tudors or for adults who want to find out a bit more about the UK’s history.
Being a fishing port, you can expect a great choice of seafood restaurants with many independent, local establishments offering menus made from fresh local produce. It isn’t all fish though, Brixham’s restaurants and cafes are also supplied by an excellent selection of butchers and green grocers. You’ll be spoilt for choice!
For walkers, The South West Coast Path will take you as far as your legs will carry you, and entertaining the little ones couldn’t be easier with Paignton Zoo, The Dartmouth Steam Railway and Splashdown @ Quay West all within a short drive.

About the host
Hosted by Saltwater Escapes

Saltwater Escapes is a family run business offering beautiful holiday homes along the South Devon coast.
Saltwater Escapes was started by husband and wife team Jamie and Kate. Born and raised in Brixham, Jamie spent his childhood on the local beaches and enjoyed the many outdoor pursuits Devon offers . Kate's early childhood years were also spent by the sea in North Berwick, Scotland. Later moving to rural Berkshire, Kate enjoyed much freedom outdoors in the surrounding countryside. They have subsequently had two children of their own and hope to instil in them the same love for the outdoors, a sense of adventure, and the importance of quality time together.
Regularly taking their children back down to Devon, their treasured escapes from their busy pace of life and enjoying old fashioned fun have become a family tradition. A time to switch off and relax, to get back to nature, to try something new, explore somewhere different, and most importantly to make treasured memories.
From the moment you arrive at a Saltwater Escapes property we aim to give you a warm welcome starting with complimentary welcome provisions with a few essentials and some local goodies too! All properties offer fantastic access to the towns treasure's including the many cafés and restaurants, the beaches and of course the beautiful sea. Our team of Housekeepers and Property Managers are all local should you need to call for any assistance with anything.
We love that Saltwater Escapes' properties have become a home from home for many of our customers who have stayed with us year after year and are making traditions of their own and memories to treasure.
