The Pele Towers, built to ward off raiding Scots in the 15th century, may be found to the south of the hamlet. Limestone pavements and beautiful woodland treks through landscapes teeming with unusual plants, trees, and wildlife make the immediate area a veritable paradise for ecotourists. You may also get to the world-famous Leighton Moss RSPB Reserve in less than two kilometres. There are guided treks that span the Kent Estuary and reveal the area's full beauty. The Forest of Bowland, Yorkshire Dales, and Lake District are all within a day trip's drive.
