Lots of space but not luxury
Having stayed in Villas in Kalkan for over 15 years we do know what to expect. We hired this villa for 3 weeks in June for a birthday celebration family holiday. From the moment we arrived there were problems. The local owner, who we had been assured wanted to greet us, was no where(it was a late arrival which id warned them of). We had been given a code so used it in the end.we walked in to find the kitchen flooded. Called the owner who very grumpily appeared to sort it. the next few weeks various things happened which neither the local Turkish owner or the agent cared about. the whole house fused twice, the kitchen lights were broken and tho it was just a matter of new bulbs the owner didn’t come and fix the whole time. A lot of the outside lights were broken. be warned the photos are very old and the outside is poorly maintained and the tennis tables, chairs, loungers are old, dead plants in pots, overgrown bushes so you can’t enjoy the hidden terrace…no lounger mattresses or luxurious towels. everything felt mean and cheap. The furnishings were poorly repainted and many were chipped. There was no house handbook so we had to guess bin collection etc and when it came to replacing the water dispenser we were told we have to order it and pay separately! I have never known that before. Indeed the agent didn’t even tell us the right price..”she’s not a water seller” no indeed but you are meant to be the expert on the area! Also there were exposed wires in the bathroom. DISAPPOINTING
