The apartment is located in Corso Giacomo Matteotti 16, one on the main alley of the island. This walking street is full of local shops, restaurants, bars, etc... Ideal location to reach most of the interesting places of Ortigia. Few steps from Piazza Duomo, 250 meters away from Ortigia's popular street market and just 200 meters away from the touristic port, with a magic atmosphere, hosting yacht and sailing boat from all over the world, where is great to enjoy the sunset or walks by the water between bars, restaurants and ice-cream parlors. Ortigia, Unesco heritage was easily transformed into a natural fortress with harbors and was big enough that it could hold a significant population in ancient times. Therefore, the history of Ortigia is synonymous with the early history of Syracuse. Walking around the Ortigia, allows to face many buildings characterized by mixed architectural styles, the Sicilian Baroque and the Hebrew Israelite styles, with elements that go back to the Medieval and Renaissance periods. These architectural styles are also demonstrated throughout the narrow alleyways and winding streets that make up the neighborhood.
