About the host
Hosted by Simon

We moved to Greece with our 3 kids in 2005. We have built a small tourist accommodation business and our family home, within a 2 acre olive grove facing the sea, to get 'back to our roots'.Living and working closer to the flora and forna of the Mediterranean in a wild and rugged environment, and offering our children an alternative experience.
After the adventures, mishaps and wonders of the initial couple of years, we are now settled into our seaside village life.
We take a pride in cultivating and caring for our 200 majestic olive trees. Pruning and shaping the form for optimum health.
The fruits are harvested by the whole family in late November and all the local groves are a whirl of activity. We bag up the olives and take them to the local press where we enjoy the lively banter with the other farmers. The cold press extraction produces a liquid gold extra virgin oil that is second to none!seabreezegr.com

What makes this property unique
All our farming activities from: harvesting, feeding and maintaining our 200 olive trees, vegetable garden and fruit orchards incorporate organic and permaculture methods, helping in maintaing healthy soil and minimize water usage. All garden plants are endemic and selected to have minimal water requirements and are watered using a drip system, again conserving water wherever possible. Our chickens are free range and aid us in sharing the kitchen waste with our compost bin as well as providing enormous tasty eggs. As often as possible we use recycled materials for outside building projects ( greenhouses, pergolas, raised vegetable beds, walls, paths, animal shelters, tree houses etc) often combed from beaches when storms have delivered timbers. We have restored and converted a stone store room to form the master bedroom of one house using local methods, craftsmen and materials. Our swimming pool incorporates the most energy efficient filter system and liner. Thus enabling us to keep her filled with water even in winter and only having to refresh the water by a third instead of 100% every spring.seabreezegr.com
