Please note: No children except babies. There are slopes, steps and 2 large unfenced ponds in the garden.. Nestled in the village of Wenhaston, this beautiful property offers the perfect retreat for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city whilst being a short distance to the beautiful beaches of Aldeburgh, Walberswick, Dunwich and Southwold. Wenhaston Church is home to the 16th century Doom panel painting, a rare work of art.
The charming old cottage has beams, some of which are a little on the low side, has been renovated to a very high standard and oozes quality and comfort from the moment you walk through the door. The kitchen is well-equipped, including everyday store cupboard essentials (tea, coffee, olive oil, vinegar etc.) and cleaning products, making this a real ’home from home’. The owner thoughtfully provides bathrobes and slippers for your comfort along with a hairdryer. There are also some internal steps to some of the rooms and a slight slope to the floor on the landing and the single bedroom. The property boasts a large semi-wild garden with seating/dining area and a barbecue, and is complete with two large ponds, one of which is a wildlife pond. Although the garden is enclosed it is not 100% secure due to the hedges that surround it. There’s plenty of space to relax with a glass of wine in hand. If you do not feel like cooking there are two pub/restaurants within walking distance and others a short drive away. There is parking for two cars in Cart Lodge and a further two cars on the driveway. Your dog is welcome and a dog towel, blanket, bowls, treats, poo bags and an outside tap are provided.
Right on your doorstep are Suffolk coastal walks and local footpaths. For those of you that would like to explore by bike there is a hire centre that deliver and collect bikes for all the family. If you fancy a spot of pampering Potton Hall Spa is 4 miles away. For the bird watchers RSPB Minsmere is close by and if you feel like a bit of retail therapy why not try Stonham Hall Barns or quaint Bungay and Beccles. Nearby Halesworth has numerous cafés and local shops to browse, all surrounded by lovely countryside. Southwold has a beautiful beach and is a charming town with independent shops and the Electric Picture Palace, a special bijou cinema. Close by are Walberswick, again with a lovely beach and a popular place to go crabbing. Close by Dunwich museum which is the perfect history experience, telling the story of the city lost to sea. For the golf enthusiasts there is a golf club at Halesworth and Southwold. A visit to the UK’s only camel park, just 9 miles away is worth a visit.
