Glorious stay at Le Cuvier
The online photos don’t do justice to the beauty and grandeur of this magical property. This 200 year old former winery made for a very special holiday retreat for us. It was ideally situated in the Dordogne close to some beautiful sites yet it was remote enough for some real peace and quiet. The grounds of the property are stunning with interesting pieces of art hidden away in the huge gardens. Our kids loved the swimming pool with its shady shelter and our dog just loved exploring his new kingdom. Eating out on the terrace every night was a special treat with its sweeping views down to the woods. Occasionally we saw deer running though the grounds. The owners Colin and Kim were very welcoming. On arrival there were some essential food items for us as well as complimentary bottles of wine. Throughout our stay they were most helpful with ideas about where to go and things to do. Inside the property is beautifully decorated with quirky touches throughout. Everywhere is clean and cool with lovely stone floors. I would recommend this property to anyone but especially families. Our two teenage kids loved their own exotic bedrooms with magnificent views all around. They loved exploring the grounds with the thoughtfully provided swing and venturing out to the nearby woods, ponds and lakes. A wonderful stay in a beautiful part of France.
