About this property
Spacious country house with private pool and enclosed garden
La Maison Au Coin is a well equipped, spacious home with a private heated pool (from June through September). The house has an enclosed garden and is located in the heart of the beautiful village of Jumilhac le Grand, on the historic Route Richard Coeur de Lion.
The village lies within the Perigord Vert National Park, and boasts an historic château which overlooks the river Isle, a deer park and beautiful countryside.
There is something for everyone: canoeing, walking, fishing, trim trail through the woods, panning for gold, rock climbing, tennis, horse riding, cycling, 'accrobois'! A wide range of activities and amenities are available right on the door step and the chateau, local bar and restaurant are only 2 minutes away!
The house is ideal for two families holidaying together or groups of adults and ideal as a base for cyclists or walkers.

About the host
Hosted by Jane Stanbridge

This has been my family's holiday home for over 23 years in which time our four children have grown up and have started to visit by themselves with friends.
We're in the middle of the village with easy access to all amenities, yet completely private, and the children have always been able to roam in complete safety. Being able to take a few euros and buy the bread for breakfast from the boulangerie built their confidence in French from a very young age!
We've had holidays here just as one family, with other families, as groups of adults, and as groups of young adults with equal success.

Why they chose this property
I first stayed in the village as a child with my French pen-friend's family. When holidaying in the area with friends many years later in 2001, we visited the village and I fell in love with the area all over again.
Over a bottle of wine (as you do), we bought the house and have never regretted it!. We were never tempted to look for a barn style property away from habitation as one of the luxuries for us is to be able to do most things without jumping in the car and the children have always had the freedom to roam in complete safety as I used to with my French pen-friend when we were children.

What makes this property unique
Privacy in a fantastic safe village location with the convenience of being walking distance from all amenities. Spacious house where adults and children can all find space away from each other when they need it.
