Amazing 3 nights. Wine tasting, e-bikes, and food!

Great host, very accommodating and very helpful with recommendations! Comfortable house!Great central location to Barolo wine area. Rented e-bikes from Noleggio Bici nella Langa del Barolo - "Rental Bike service in Langa of Barolo area”. Delivered to VRBO. Went to two great wineries for tasting: Vietti and Ceretto. Great lunch in Alba at Osteria dei Sognatori. Amazing dinner and views at il vigneto di Roddi. Both places are must eats!

My husband suggested we go to Italy to celebrate my birthday and take the whole family. One of the first things I did was secure the dates of June 30 until July 14 2025 at a VRBO in the Alba Italy vicinity, Casa Gianni in Roddi. Casa Gianni is a tribute to our host’s father who built the house when our host was 10 years old. After his father’s untimely passing, our host lovingly restored the house to share with others. Our stay at Casa Gianni was incredible. Our host was wonderful. He had answers to every question and was there for us whenever we needed him. We even had a couple of crises, and because he was there, they only seemed like small hiccups in the trip. The Alba area is a terrific location for a home base during a multiple week trip. We went to Lake Como, Milan, Rome, Florence, Monte Carlo, and of course Asti and the Langhe wine region of which Alba is at the center. We were able to unpack our bags once and have fantastic day trips with a great place to come back to at the end of each day. We spent the 4th of July touring the wine country, That night in place of our beloved family tradition – fireworks, we ate steaks at Carlo’s BBQ, the kids swam in the pool at Carlo’s, and really, it was one of the best 4th of July’s ever!! A highlight of the trip was getting to understand more about our family’s northern Italian heritage through the eyes of our host, someone who was born and raised in the Alba area. We made many memories at Casa Gianni!
