Host profile image
Watchet is a picturesque town nestled on the West Somerset coastline. With Exmoor to the East, the Brendon Hills to the South and the Quantocks to the West, it is a great spot for exploring the local area.

Watchet is a small but friendly town which packs a lot in. It has an active Marina, Steam train station, Old Port, museums, shops, restaurants, pubs and takeaways! The East quay hosts a fascinating array of exhibitions. Local, national and international artists exhibit here and are a number of artists in residence at the Containers and in the main thoroughfare where you can look at their work , chat and if you feel desiring of their work, can invest!

There are two museums in Watchet . The Boat museum up by the Tourist Information Centre opposite the entrance to the Steam railway and Market House Museum by the Esplanade.

For the Anglers amongst you there are daily sea fishing trips that head out from the Marina, just enquire at The Marina office.

Watchet is a great place for the bargain hunters amongst you. There is an Antiques shop at one end of the town and upstairs in the Marina is 'Rogers', a fascinating "Aladdin's cave" of collectables as is the Smugglers.

There are many walks, along the Mineral Line, up and around the Church and along the rope walk, across to Doniford Beach. Or if you prefer to people watch, you can just sit and take in the charm of the Esplanade and the Marina.
