About this property

The Brackens: Beachfront holiday home, sleeps 6

A brand new addition to the Anglesey Holiday Lettings family. The Brackens is an exceptional contemporary three bedroom home set in a stunning location on the shore of the Malltraeth estuary in the southwest of Anglesey.

The owners have created a sanctuary of peace and relaxation with a charming rewilded garden which reaches down to the coastal footpath and estuary.

The bespoke accommodation sleeps six guests and is set over one level, featuring a stunning open-plan lounge with a cathedral-style ceiling and trapezoid windows which turn the space into a gateway for natural light.

Living, Dining & Cooking

The magnificent open-plan living area features a double-height, cathedral-style ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows affording sublime views to the estuary and mountains.

The stylish interior is minimally but comfortably furnished. It's the perfect space to curl up on the sofa with your morning coffee and enjoy the sunlight streaming in and that, oh so lovely view.

Two steps up to the back of the living area, you find a dining table to seat six guests and the fully equipped kitchen with an island/breakfast bar.

Tucked away to the side of the living space is a TV snug with a sliding door, so you can cosy up and enjoy a movie night with your favourite people or leave the kids to watch TV and play on their iPad, whilst you enjoy an evening around the dining table with friends.

A mezzanine area hovers above the living space which doubles up as a study and a quiet reading nook with views to the front and back of the house.

Sleeping Arrangements

There are three bedrooms all on the ground floor, which is an ideal arrangement for guests who have difficulty with stairs and for families travelling with toddlers.
Principal bedroom: King-size bed Bedroom two: King-size bed Bedroom three: Twin beds
There are two family bathrooms, one equipped with a walk-in shower and the other features a bath and a large walk-in shower. Both have washbasins, heated towel rails and toilets.

A separate guest WC is located next to the utility area. Accessible from the exterior and equipped with a washing machine, it's ideal for coming off the beach and leaving your wet towels and sandy flip flops. There is also a pull down rack to hang your wet suits up on.

The owners of The Brackens have thought of everything!

Outdoors

If you love wild natural scenery, you'll adore The Bracken's rewilded garden with its small but deep pond. It's a refuge for wildlife: a place to connect with nature and fully de-stress.

A lawned area at the side of the property has a trampoline and is the perfect spot for children to play and there is another den area amongst the trees at the back of the house. Perfect for playing Swallows and Amazons or Famous Five adventures!

A patio wraps around the whole house with space for dining or relaxing. Close your eyes and listen to the sound of nature and the waves rolling into shore. The rest of the garden is left for re-wiliding purposes so the ground is uneven for those who want to explore.

A little path winds its way down through the garden and out to the beach.

The Nitty Gritty
The Brackens is pet-friendly, welcoming two well-behaved dogs Ample enclosed parking for four cars Five minutes' walk to Malltraeth Village The summer house is the owners private property Parents will need to supervise child activity in the garden due to the pond On arrival you will receive a complimentary welcome pack with a few essentials to get your holiday started the right way.

Malltraeth Guide

Malltraeth is a small village located on the southwest coast of Anglesey, North Wales in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Synonymous with wild dramatic beaches, pastoral countryside and a forest reserve.

The village is nestled in peaceful countryside scenery around 3 kms inland from the coast. It's a perfect base for Anglesey walking, hiking and cycling trips as the Anglesey Coastal Path passes through the village.

The Afon Cefni (Cefni River) also cuts through the village and down into the estuary at Malltraeth Bay. The estuary has its own sandy beach known as Malltraeth Sands but the main beach is Newborough Beach which sits between Malltraeth Bay and Newborough Warren.

This beautiful wild stretch of sand is home a favourite with birders and wildlife enthusiasts. It's home to one of the largest populations of Lapwings in the UK and teeming with marine life and aquatic birds.

When the tide is low you can walk across a sandy walkway to Llanddwyn Island, also known as Lover's Island.

At the other end of the beach is Newborough Warren and the Newborough National Nature Reserve and Forest. This fantastic nature reserve offers lots of walking and bird watching opportunities.

The Malltraeth Cob which crosses over the Afon Cefni runs behind Newborough Beach along to Newborough Forest. This is a beautiful, safe and fabulous route on bike with the kids.

Malltraeth Village has a small selection of convenience stores, cafes and pubs, perfect for weekend to week stays. If you want a wider selection, Rhosneigr with its fantastic selection of eateries and shops is just a 15 minute drive away.

Review of Brackens
Excellent property - possibly the nicest we've stayed in - only drawback was the lack of a tumble dryer. We will definitely return though.

Fabulous property
In a beautiful location if wanting to get away from it all with stunning views across the estuary. Even though quiet location, not to far to drive to Rhosneigr or Rhoscolyn and only 30 minutes from other areas with more going on
