About this property
Oxford Chalet w/Beach and Lake Access, Outdoor Living Area w/TV and Fireplace
Enjoy all the excitement of Oxford and Ole Miss, then retreat to this spacious, comfy, quiet getaway just a short walk to the beach and lake! The covered deck makes it extra special with a woodburing fireplace, four recliners, a couch, table, grill and TV.
This house looks feels like a mountain home while being only 13 miles to Jackson Ave. in the heart of Oxford. It has a semi-private Sardis Lake beach just a 3 minute walk away.
This 2100 sf, 3 Bedroom/2 bath home has three bedrooms and a bonus queen-sized sleeping spot in the great room. The house has five smart TVs: one in the great room, one in each bedroom and one on the back porch.
There's a king sized, four-poster bed in the first bedroom, a full-sized double four-poster bed in the second bedroom, a full-sized country pine bed in the third bedroom, and a queen-sized sleeper sofa if needed in the great room.
It sits in one of the only residential spots near Sardis Lake and is embedded in Federal Corps of Engineers land, so it's super quiet and peaceful. (NOTE: If you are planning a to get more people together than this house will accommodate, we also own a 2 BR/1 Bath house across the street VRBO listing #3114696.)
During summer when the lake is at its peak water level, you can spend the day on the beach to swim or fish or go for a walk at dusk to see the incredible sunset. The rest of the year, it's still great for walks and incredible views.
There's a large recreational boat launch (Clear Creek Recreational area) just a half mile away from the house if you want to bring your boat for fishing, water skiing or even to pull it around to anchor off the beach near the house.
Clear Creek is also home to an 8-mile mountain bike trail which is just 1/8 of a mile from your front door.
For game days, the route to town is along one of the least developed areas of Oxford, so not too much traffic at all.
The house is a spacious, open floor plan with a great kitchen. It has a large sub-zero side-by side refrigerator and freezer, Wolf double ovens and a very large island with seating for entertaining. It has a very large dining table that seats up to 10 if needed.
If you love Oxford and all it has to offer, but you also enjoy peace, quiet, relaxation and the outdoors, along with a beach and a lake, this is the house for you.
Our family loves this house and we think you will love it as much as we do!

About the host
Hosted by Allison B. Buchanan

We are Pat and Allison Buchanan from Biloxi, Mississippi. We both have degrees from Ole Miss and our two children Hawtin and Frances graduated from Ole Miss in recent years. We bought this house when Allison was working in Oxford and she and Pat were commuting every other weekend. But we now both work back in Biloxi, so we decided to rent the house out when we aren't visiting! We love this house and plan to keep it as a wonderful getaway for our family. We hope our guests will love it as much as we do.
Why they chose this property
It is close to Oxford, yet you feel like you are in the mountains. It is so close to the lake that we can see the lake in the winter, and we can be on the beach in a couple of minutes for a walk or to watch the sunset.
What makes this property unique
There is so much to do! We are so close to Oxford and can have a great meal on the Square or go to a game on campus and then come home and relax on the back deck by the fire, or we can go walk to the beach and enjoy the lake. There's also a mountain bike trail nearby and a boat launch. One of the nicest things is how quiet it is. You don't hear city noise, and you'll often see deer in the yard.
