Experience this hidden gem lakefront retreat just 5 minutes from downtown Oxford and the University of Mississippi. Enjoy kayaking, birdwatching, grilling, evening bonfires and more just steps from your large screened porch.

This is the perfect place to relax in solitude while being close to everything. Great for game day or getting away from it all, this new cottage has everything you could ask for. The cottage is not child proof so would be more appropriate for older children.

Our family home shares the property but you will experience privacy during your stay.

The host requires you to complete the following before checking out:
Load and start the dishwasher
Strip any used beds and gather used towels
Remove personal items, remove leftover food and drinks and take out the rubbish
Turn off the lights
When you strip the beds leave mattress pad on. Just remove the sheets and pile in the center of the bed with the comforter.
Bath towels should be placed in the laundry baskets in each bathroom.
Do Not lock the doors. Leave key on kitchen counter with Welcome Book.
Failure to complete these may result in a negative review from the host.

This was by far the cleanest, most well-maintained VRBO rental my family and I have ever experienced. It was also a truly beautiful, special place. The hosts thought of everything and made sure to communicate with us regularly and thoroughly. We found our new go-to place to stay in Oxford and hope it’s available the next time we are visiting!

Absolutely stunning property! Just off Hwy 6 but a world away. The rooms were immaculate, the kitchen with everything we needed, the bathrooms were huge and each bedroom had their own. But what sold us was the lake front and large screened in porch where we watched the fire flies and listened to the bullfrogs. Our hosts were outstanding and attentive. They even left fresh flowers on the kitchen table and mini muffins with the coffee.

This place has everything and more. Amazing hosts, great property. Perfect for a night, weekend, or whole week. Every detail that other Rental properties forget or overlook, they have taken care of to perfection. Owner even went out and bought bait and shared some tackle pieces as well. We ended up extending our stay because it was so great. Kids loved it, mom and dad enjoyed and felt relaxed as ever. We will return, even if it is just to visit this home.

This is a fantastic rental. The owners are wonderful and so helpful. The cottage is gorgeous inside with a lot of space. We were busy with Ole Miss activities and it was such a peaceful retreat to return to each day.

Best place near Ole Miss

This is the second time we’ve stayed in this cottage by the lake and it is by far our favorite place when visiting our student at Ole Miss. We have stayed at several other BNB’s in Oxford and this is by far our favorite.

We have lived on this property for 50 years. We raised our daughter and many pets on this lovely place. We have enjoyed the privacy and easy access to the university and the town of Oxford. We shared this property with my mother. She passed away in 2019 and we decided to keep the property in the family by sharing it with others. We have enjoyed meeting people from around the world and hope by doing this we will be able to afford to keep the property for many years to come. Thank you for helping us with our goal.

Why they chose this property

The property is very special. The Guest packet in the cottage describes the seasons and wildlife that surround us. It is quiet, yet close to everything. We feel blessed and a privilege to live on this slice of paradise.

What makes this property unique

Kayaking,, swimming and having a bonfire on the beach with s'mores and good conversation are just the beginning. If you would like to fish, please bring your own equipment. We have a one pole-one person fishing rule. Also we have a catch and release policy. Attending the University of Mississippi sporting events just down the road are also must see if you enjoy college sports. We have it all. Book conferences, festivals, good music and amazing food are all part of this beautiful place. Oxford has been called the "Pearl of the South". We hope you come to visit.
