My wife and I had a fantastic stay! We were lucky enough to explore many of the sights suggested by Hugh and all of the delicious restaurant recommendations.
Amazing location. About 5-6 minutes to Kings Cross/St. Pancras stations. Supermarket less than 100 metres from the front door. Tons of great eateries within blocks. Quaint little gardens for sipping a late afternoon glass of wine. The owner Hugh is amazingly friendly and responsive. Easy as pie checkin and very clean - thanks, Isabella!!! Well equipped for your stay. Highly recommended!
I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Beautifully furnished and ideally located for easy access into central London. Hugh, who is the host, is also incredibly helpful. I will definitely stay again.
Hugh's place at Kings Cross was beautiful, comfy, and close to everything. We couldn't have asked for a better host, who gave us many tips for what to see and do within minutes of his flat. This was truly a memorable experience, and we hope to visit again!
Hugh's place is a gorgeous flat in an excellent location. Really loved the comfortable and stylish apartment. This is my second time staying here and I have found it to be the perfect place to rest in between exploring London. Hugh was friendly and responsive to all my needs and I would happily book again!
Hugh's place is perfectly located by Kings Cross making all of London easily accessible by rail. But you don't even have to go that far to enjoy a number of excellent restaurants, sights and fun shopping opportunities. The flat was cozy and comfortable, providing everything I needed for a great trip!
Perfectly clean and comfortable apartment in a great location. Really enhanced our London stay.
Would be glad to return to this place in Kings Cross.
Thank you.
We had such a fabulous stay here. The location is great with so many amazing restaurants to choose from. The house is perfect for two people. It is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Hugh could not have been more helpful. Thank you so much!
Hugh’s place is so inviting and cozy, with access to everything outside your door. The back garden was just beginning to bloom and felt like a little restorative treat. There are great restaurants nearby, with easy access to King’s Cross Coal Drops area and an easy walk over to Islington. Will definitely be back!
Location is excellent. Great grocery, restaurants and stores nearby at Granary Square. Islington a short walk with many quaint shopping and dining areas. Proximity to Kings Cross station makes transit a breeze. Great running on Regents canal (a bit busy on weekends if not out early), Regents Park, and a bit further Hempstead Heath. Property has character, and is very comfortable. Outdoor space is lovely, but a bit cold to enjoy on this visit.
Checks all the boxes: location, comfort, quiet, functional
My wife and I had a wonderful 3 night stay at Hugh’s place. We flew into Heathrow and took the train directly to Kings Cross and walked 5 minutes to the apartment. On the way out of England, we flew out of Gatwick, and took the 45 minute train directly there. Not to mention w/in the local
The place is gorgeous. A little haven of style in the heart of Kings Cross. Incredible location and yet peaceful once inside. The atmosphere and attention to detail on the interior is house goals territory! Hugh was also the loveliest of hosts and a genuine care for his guests.
I'd love to stay again.
Thank you!

Lauren, it was an absolute pleasure to meet you and have you stay. I hope to see you again soon. All best, Hugh
Hugh’s place was very clean and cozy with great decor. There is also a beautiful back patio that was a treat! We did a lot of exploring around London and it was a great location (also a quick walk to the main train station). There are a lot of nice restaurants nearby and he even printed out a thoughtful recommendation list along with any instructions you would need. 100% would recommend 😊😊
Hugh’s place is meticulously and thoughtfully decorated and furnished to ensure a really wonderful and comfortable stay! My husband and I loved our time in London due to the fact that this place is so easy to get to transit and neighborhood amenities! Its in the best location but also quiet and serene with a beautiful bi-level garden space! Hugh was so communicative and accommodating and gave great recommendations! Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!!
This apt is wonderful. Came for work and didn’t feel like a hotel. Hugh was great and made sure I had everything I might need. There is a great grocery store nearby (Waitrose), lots of fantastic restaurants/shopping, and easy to get anywhere from King’s Cross. It was winter, but the garden is still lovely, and a special place to relax for morning coffee with the birds. Bed was very comfy. I will absolutely stay here again!
Hugh's home was a stellar experience. It's recently renovated in a way I found to be both tasteful and functional, and has an outstanding back garden. It was spotlessly clean. Hugh was attentive and made check-in and check-out go smoothly. The location is also great: steps from King's Cross and near some great restaurants in the newly-built-out Coal Drops Yard. Highest recommendation!
This is a beautiful, lovingly maintained home near the Kings Cross Station. Comfortable for two. Wonderful kitchen, comfy bed, great shower and plenty of hot water. Easy walk to the Kings Cross station, and some delicious eateries nearby (especially the Thai restaurant). We felt safe in the neighborhood. There is a bit of grit and a few homeless folks that hang outside the nearby Tesco, but were quite benign. The living area and kitchen are at street level, and the bedroom and bath are below, so there are a few stairs if that is a barrier. The gardens in back are GORGEOUS! The bed is really comfy but…close to the walls. This means that one person needs to make room to accommodate the others exit. Communication with Hugh was great.
Hugh’s place was amazing. Honestly, it far exceeded expectations. My husband and I repeatedly stated that the place was so much nicer than the photos. We loved the back garden, and the attention to detail in the decor. The location was so wonderful. We could so easily get around. We were able to visit family outside of London and still make it to a show on the west end every night thet we were there.
Hugh, a most responsive and thoughtful host, is sharing a most amazingly beautiful London home. Gorgeous furnishings and amenities, this is the most tastefully decorated VRBO - a true home, not a slap-dash rental. The two levels of gardens are breathtaking and if it is too cool and rainy to use them, the elegant bathtub is perfect for a warming soak! So easy to walk, tube, bus or train to all the city and beyond. Ah, and the tea selection is beyond measure!
This is one of those homes that feels like you're tucked away in the countryside, but you have all the access to a city. This is due to the beautifully renovated kitchen / bathroom amenities, yet the house is full of stylish antiques. It's a stone's throw from King's Cross so you can easily access all parts of London but also easily hop over to Paris or other parts of the UK. Hugh has supplied the space with all comforts as well (tea, coffee, detergent, spices). I will definitely return!
We stayed for 4 days in June and loved the cozy quaintness of the flat and a great stay for couples. We were right around the corner from Kings Cross and St. Pancras, with Euston Station just down the street, so we could catch the Tube or a train when we needed it. And there are some really interesting stores and restaurants inside the stations. Hugh was an excellent host and it was quickly evident that he loves gardening, as there is a 2-level beautiful shaded garden in the back, with places to sit and just relax or enjoy a meal. While there isn't air conditioning, there are excellent fans for the warm weather, which kept us cool, and a cozy wood stove in the living room for the cold weather. The bedroom and bath are downstairs, which added to the coolness for sleeping. The bed is very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped and, if you don't feel like cooking, there are tons of restaurants and fast food places close by, as well as a small Tesco on the corner. A wonderful Waitress & Co grocery is a close walk away, too! We did a lot of sight-seeing while we were there and walked along the canal to Coal Drops Yard where there are shops, restaurants and relaxing places to sit and people watch. Hugh was a great host and we would definitely stay here again!
Lovely, art-filled period property with beautiful two-tier patio garden
This property is super conveniently located and aesthetically pleasing with artwork, antiques, and beautiful finishes throughout. Kings Cross is one of London’s major transit hubs making trips about town as well as out of town as easy as you can get! Additionally it is convenient to walk to many sites without even using the Tube, making this an ideal home base. Great neighborhood dining options abound as well. What a delight to wake with a wall-to-wall private garden view from bed each morning and to open and close your day surrounded by a beautifully curated and maintained garden while you enjoy your beverage of choice. The apartment is impeccably maintained and the host is super friendly, responsive, and helpful! Tips for future guests — remember to pack your own shampoo, conditioner, and washcloths (according to what you use). Also please note that as is common in city apartments, you must access the bed on one side and crawl over for the second person to get in. This wasn’t a problem for us but might be for someone for whom this could pose a physical challenge. Hugh’s top rating for this unit is well-earned! We are grateful we got to enjoy his property for a week!
My wife and I were very pleased with the quality and location of this property. It more than met our expectations. It is an extremely comfortable apartment/home with a well designed interior. The furnishings and decor are inviting as you enter (and throughout) and the overall renovated design is superb. This applies too, to the outside patio/garden facilities which were a joy to relax in before retiring for the evening.
The location, is an easy walking distance from Kings Cross Station. It's also within a stone's throw from a revitalized area of London that is absolutely marvelous. Shops, restaurants, canals and pubs abound to meet every taste and desire. The rest of London faded in our minds as we explored this 'new world'.
We were only in this location for a full three days but could have easily stayed for three weeks.
Hugh was a perfect 'host'. Although we never met in person he was readily available, through text/email, to walk us through whatever it was we needed. His 'brochure' of the apartment and surrounding area was a perfect introduction to the location and facilities.
All in all, my wife and I give an A+ to Hugh and thank him for helping us to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary in such a marvelous London property/location.
We do intend to return for a longer stay.
The perfect place to immerse yourself in London. We enjoyed the easy access to shops, pubs, and restaurants. While able to relax and rejuvenate in this quiet, clean modernized London row house.
The surprising, terraced green space in the back garden was a lovely respite from the hustle and bustle yet only a few minutes walk from the constantly busy King’s Cross/Saint Pancras rail and underground station, a portal to all of London and more!
We enjoyed our quiet mornings with coffee in the garden, a home cooked English breakfast in the well apportioned modern kitchen, provisioned with groceries from the neighborhood Tesco’s or Sainsbury’s. Then off to The Tube with backpacks and walking shoes, and all of London only minutes away!
Hours later, we would climb out of the underground to the sounds of buses, horns and people milling about Kings Cross and sit for a few minutes immersed in the sounds and scenes of real London. Then we would walk 5 minutes to be embraced in the security and comfort of our all too temporary home away from home.
As you lay your head down at night and listen very carefully you might hear the distant underground rumble of the last trains rolling in…a remarkably comforting way to be lulled to sleep, like the distant heartbeat of the greatest city in the world.
