About this property
Heated pool home, canal gulf access, convenient to attractions, newly renovated
For the discriminate vacation seeking adult or business person who enjoys luxury in a quality island style setting on the mainland, this 1300 sq. ft. home was totally up fitted with new paint in 2022, hygienic tile throughout, all new cabinetry, appliances, and granite counter tops in 2017. The master bedroom with a King-sized bed has a dresser and double closets for your luggage and clothes, and shower with double vanity sinks. The cute second bedroom has a Queen-sized bed, also with a dresser and full closet. The hall bath has a tub and full vanity. Both beds have memory foam dream mattresses. More than adequate sheets, linens, towels are supplied and can be maintained with washer and dryer in the garage. Some laundry detergent and softener may be left over, but you must provide these on your own for the duration of your stay. The fully equipped kitchen is ready for your home prepared meals served on a 6 place table directly adjacent from which you can view the pool and canal. A coffee bar/eat up counter with Keurig or conventional coffee maker is also in the kitchen for morning coffee or those quick snacks from which you can see the TV. The comfortably appointed living area has a wall-mounted 55 inch LG "smart tv" with hard-wired DVD player. If you have an Iphone or Ipad, you can cast Amazon, Netflix or other viewing content directly to it with your account information (don't forget to bring it with you). It is also capable of streaming from wifi which is available and free. Additionally the TV is connected to a local amplified HD-TV antenna in order to receive all local live-TV-stations in best possible HD quality. The living area opens through triple stacking sliding doors to the screened terrace and 87 degree electric heated pool. On the screened lanai are sunning chairs, a four-place outdoor table, and a gas grill for those BBQ cooked dishes. This is also the only area smoking is allowed. Two basic bicycles can be used to explore the local area although helmets nor locks are provided. The dock and canal are accessible via a walkway from the lanai and make it easy to use your boat or a rental boat. The gulf waterway is a 10 minute boat ride (no bridges!) through the canals passing by beautiful waterfront properties to the Gulf waterway. Take your rental boat and explore over 400 miles of canals in Cape Coral or take the boat to one of many waterfront restaurants and islands in the area. For maintenance I have different contractors to support you. For example weekly pool & lawn care, final cleaning, and handyman services. Together with the arrival guide you will receive a very detailed house guide. Arrival and departure days can be any day as long as it shows open at the availability calendar. Earliest check-in time can be 3:30 p.m. and latest check-out time 10:30 a.m. It is no problem to check-in late at night because we will supply you with the lock code for the entry door. You will have available free parking for your car in the driveway, in front of the house. The home is ideal for a couple, but families of four are welcome. There is a $20/night charge in addition to the base rate for each overnight guest. This payment will be managed personally with the owner. Although this is a quiet cul-de-sac street, you are within a 2 minute drive to downtown Cape Coral with plenty to do such as restaurants, pubs, boat rentals. Publix and Family Dollar are within easy biking distance. A 10 minute drive will get you to the Yacht Club area with a public beach Full descriptions of local businesses are in the arrival guide.

We have rented in the Ft Myers/Cape Coral area for seven years. This house was, by far, the most up to date, comfortable and well-maintained unit that we have experienced. The owner was very responsive to any questions and concerns. The location is very good and the neighborhood is quiet. We highly recommend this rental.
We enjoyed our stay so much. The property felt so inviting...a home away from home! We will be back! Thanks!

Thank you for the review. I’m not sure what happened to give a VRBO four star review to 5 star guests such as you. Please consider our home when planning your future visits to the Cape.
This home was clean, updated and well equipped. It is a great location close to many restaurants and stores. A short trip to Cape Coral Center and Ft. Meyers . Both Time and Deb (owners were in communication with us and were super nice!

Thank you for being such responsible guests. Hope you'll consider us in the future.
Loved our stay in every way. House is so clean and the layout is perfect. Large family room with very comfortable furniture, enough room for several people if need be. Pool is amazing! I haven’t swam this much since we were kids. Loved the canal, and hubby threw in a line here and there. Location is convenient to restaurants and shopping. Kitchen is very well equipped, as we stayed in and cooked several evenings. We especially loved our two little burrowing owl friends we saw every morning in the palm tree out the front window!
My wife and I had a great stay here... We visited Sanibel Is. Pine Is, Ft Myers, Ft Myers Beach, and Naples as they all are close by.
The house is beautiful and especially loved the heated pool and kayaking in the canals. One day kayaking in the canal I got to kayak with two dolphins up close and personal... amazing. My wife loved watching the two borrowing owls that nested close by and spent the days resting in a palm tree right outside the front of the house. Inches from the front window!
Thanks Tim and Debbie for sharing!

I’m glad you guys enjoyed your stay at our house. Hope to see you again!
Loved this location. House was great. Girls loved the pool. Very clean and tidy. Close to shopping and restaurants. Got back to us on any questions right away. This was our first time in cape coral and we loved it. House is much prettier in real life. They have anything you could need in the kitchen. Great place
This was one of the greatest rentals so far in the last 10 years I’ve been renting! House was beautiful, clean, well equipped and decorated. Neighborhood and location perfect! Will definitely rent again. Owner very kind and easy to work with. Pool was exceptional, all in all very peaceful and relaxing!

Enjoyed our 2nd visit even more than the 1st!
My husband and I enjoyed 3 weeks at this home both this year and last year. Very clean and comfortable. Tastefully decorated. Beautiful kitchen. House was equipped with everything we needed. Enjoyed the heated pool and view of canal. Nicely landscaped. Good neighborhood. Only half a mile to Publix. The owner, Tim, is a pleasure to deal with and very responsive, as is Dawn.

Glad to have you as guests. You guys have learned how to make the most of what the house and Cape Coral has to offer. I was impressed with Georges television interview in front of our house under the circumstances:).
I will be handyman and Debbie will be looking for new stuff for the house this spring and fall. Talk to ya next year if not before!

great getaway
My wife and I just spent two weeks at Tim's place and couldn't have enjoyed ourselves more ! It's very neat and clean and quite nicely furnished. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with a nice island and updated appliances. We enjoyed grilling and cooking several meals there. The place is conveniently located, and we enjoyed day trips to the yacht club, sanibel island (a personal favorite), Ft Myers beach , and Pine island. The rest of our time was spent relaxing around the beautiful pool area and well landscaped yard. It was a totally hassle-free experience, and one we'll probably do again in the future !
Thanks Tim and Debbie !!! Casey & Peg Quinn

It sounds like you guys took full advantage of what the house and location has to offer! It's nice to be where the house is, just for proximity to the Gulf islands and the easy access to the city life. Thank you for the review and hope to hear from you in the future.

Wonderful time and great house
We enjoyed our 2 weeks at Jim and Debs house. The home is beautiful, bright and well appointed. They have thought of everything you can think of to make you stay enjoyable. The only thing you need to bring is your toothbrush and maybe some food, there are so many eateries in the area of Cape Coral you can pick a new one every night! There was plenty of room for our 28 foot Grady at the dock with plenty of room to spare. Unfortunately the fishing was not good because of the Red Tide that was in, not from the lack of trying for my husband and 2 sons. The pool was great, my two boys were in it every chance they could.I would highly recommend staying here. Thanks for everything and for making our stay enjoyable.

Thank you for your review Deb. We are happy you found our house enjoyable. The weather may have been a bit cool by local standards while you were visiting, but nothing like the snow and ice we had to deal with in NC while you were there. Fishing can be hit or miss depending on release of water from Lake Okeechobee, but I have had exceptional results in the sounds on many occasions. Thank you for any issues you dealt with during your visit, and by the way, our cleaner told me to give you five stars for the condition in which you left everything on departure. I hope we can host you again.

About the host
Hosted by Tim Powell
We are from Richmond, Va and Burgaw, NC originally but have lived on the southern outer banks of NC for 45 years together. The proximity to the ocean is what makes us happy. We have become frequent visitors to the Cape to visit parents at Shell Point.
Why they chose this property
Although we are rural in nature, we enjoyed the downtown aspect of Cape Coral being so close and still have quick access to the Gulf islands and beaches by boat. The house has been a labor of love while preparing it for future use by guests and us alike. Hurricane recovery has been our biggest challenge.
What makes this property unique
We are tropical plant lovers and appreciate the year round growing season here. We are able to cultivate our lime, mango, avocado, and banana trees along with the tropical palms and flowers that we so enjoy.
