The property, location, and host were all fantastic! Nikki was very kind and accommodating to us needing a last minute reservation, and she made sure the flat was in excellent condition when we arrived. The location ensured we could walk to almost ever key destination in Edinburgh. We had a wonderful stay and would gladly do so again!
We had a great stay - The listing mentions stairs, but should be clear, there are several flights of steep stairs to get to the apartment. This is not an easily accessible property for those with any kind of physical limitation.

Thank you for staying and for taking the time to write a review. Stairs are a big feature of Edinburgh Old Town accommodation as the properties were built long before the general use of elevators in residential buildings. I am glad this didn't detract from your stay.
Location was great with tons of eating options all close by. Walk every where. Local store 1min walk for everything needed Wine Wine and milk. Unit has everything you need and the washer and Dryer is a huge help. Thx!

Thanks for staying in our apartment in Edinburgh. We were delighted to host you and delighted to read you enjoyed your stay. We hope to welcome you back in the future.
We loved our stay! The place was perfectly located in Old Town and, with five bedrooms and two bathrooms, a great place for larger groups. The apartment was clean and comfortable and communication with the property manager was a breeze. There are 3 flights of stairs that one has to take to get to the apartment, but Old Town is full of stairs so by the end of our trip, we were used to it.
I would definitely stay at this apartment again!
The check-in process, communication with the property manager was overall great. The location is incredible. Also, the appliances worked great! I wish I read more closely that this property is up 6 flights of stairs - that is hard with an infant and a lot of luggage. The only down side is that the apartment is mostly carpet and it can get muggy. We would open the windows at night, but i would recommend keeping the windows open when it is not raining so that it is not stuffy inside the apartment.
Wow! We didn’t know exactly where to go or what to see in Edinburgh, but we hit the jackpot with this spot!
Easy access from train station or tram, just down the road from Edinburgh castle and neighborhoods full of great food and pubs in walking distance.
We were traveling with 2 families and 3 generations and this was perfect and Edinburgh was amazing. We didn’t get to new town but all the charm of old town was fabulous for a few days stay.
Lots of great little perks/quirks to the apartment including sky lights and a wonderful view of the castle at night on one side and people watching on the street side.
Stay here!
Thanks!
The apartment was a nice size. The bedrooms were all very spacious. The bathrooms were modernized and very nice. The kitchen was also updated and had nice appliances. The washer/dryer were both great.
You need to bring your own shampoo/conditioner.
The upstairs bedrooms could have been cleaner. There were hairs in one bed and a stain on the bed in the other bedroom.
The apartment overlooks a busy street and the street facing bedrooms were loud.
Also of note, there were 68 STEPS to get to the apartment and no lift available.

About the host
Hosted by Nikki Reid
Hi - I am Nikki, I am from the UK but I live mostly overseas. In the winter I run a ski chalet rental in the resort of Avoriaz in the French Alps - a fabulous car free resort high up at 1800 meters approximately half way between Geneva and Chamonix and in the summer we love to sail and visit Phuket where we also have a rental villa. I have 4 kids (all now all grown up) that spent their childhood on the ski slopes in France or the beaches of Phuket. I bought my apartment in Edinburgh when my daughter attended the university for 4 years. I purchased it in 2016 in its original condition, as accommodation in the historic centre is difficult to come by and I spent a year gutting it and fully modernising and refurbishing it into a bright spacious comfortable apartment. I love renting properties and meeting people from all over the world. I look forward to your visit.
Why they chose this property
Edinburgh's Old Town is full of life. There are supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, a post office, pubs, take aways all outside the front door. It's only a 5 minute walk to the Royal Mile, but 5 minutes in the other direction takes you to The Meadows - a lovely open green park. There is a bus stop right outside the front door, but it's super easy to walk of approximately 5 minutes to the main Edinburgh sights. It is the heart of the Edinburgh University area and the Edinburgh Festival.
What makes this property unique
The apartment is very large at over 150 M2 and offers 5 proper large double bedrooms. Spread over 2 floors with views of the famous Edinburgh castle from one side and onto Forrest Road on the other. The apartment is bright and spacious and fully modernised - but retains its original authentic charm being set in an original historic Edinburgh tenement. Step outside the front door into the bustling heart of Edinburgh's historic Old Town. All the famous sights of the Royal Mile, Grassmarket, Edinburgh Castle, Edinburgh Festival are within a 5 minute walk.
