About this property
Countryside bungalow with off-road parking
2 bedroom bungalow (with its own access and private parking) located in the Surrey Hills AONB (area of outstanding natural beauty).
Recently refurbished, it has a fully fitted kitchen, lounge with smart TV, high-speed wifi, and a patio overlooking the (shared) lawn. Behind the lawn is a field where you may see rabbits, foxes, deer, and our resident buzzards.
We are a 10min walk into the picturesque medieval village of Godstone and its pubs, cafes, and local grocery store. 20min drive to Gatwick airport. A 10min bus ride to Oxted/Redhill and their restaurants and supermarkets, and from there a 40min train to central London. We also have a local farm store 5min walk away.
For those seeking traditional British cuisine, there are plenty of good local pubs offering fish and chips, or roast beef and Yorkshire puddings. There is also a traditional British tea room in the neighbouring village of Bletchingley. We also have nearby microbreweries and vineyards.
The annex is a great base for local walks, bike rides, and cold water swimming. 2min walk down the road is the 12th century St Nicholas church which has a real pirate grave, and nearby is Hever Castle and Chartwell House (home of Winston Churchill).

About the host
Hosted by Fiona Carrington
We returned to the UK from China in 2021 after spending 17 years in Macao, China. We took over this fabulous property in the Surrey hills in July 2023, and have refurbished the annex ready for rental. We love walking, wine, our cats, Asian food and culture, and aviation.
Why they chose this property
We moved to Godstone to be near to Gatwick airport (for work), but also be near to everything in London (30-40 min by train), and the M25 motorway/highway for onward travel. Godstone is a typically quaint English village, and our lane has some centuries-old relics on it. We have plenty of wildlife around us (sometimes in the garden) and there are plenty of walks around the Surrey Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
What makes this property unique
Your patio looks out over a large (shared) lawn, and behind that is a field which you are welcome to explore. We have seen rabbits, foxes, deer and buzzards.
