About the host
Your host

This property holds a special place in our hearts, as it’s been a cherished part of our family for three generations. Our grandmother Arminta, who lovingly cared for and raised our mom and uncles here, would be so happy to know it’s back in our hands.
After a bit of an interlude, during which the property was away from our family for about twenty years, my brother Josh and I had the incredible opportunity to reclaim it in 2022. Renovating this place has been a labor of love, and we’ve had the joy of reliving the experiences we had as kids with our own children. The fishing, creek adventures, and hard work have been just as magical as ever.
Before she passed, Grammy Arminta set out to write a book about her life and her childhood here. To illustrate it, she asked each of us grandkids to draw pictures, though at the time, we didn’t quite understand the significance. She had the book, titled "Featherbeds & Haystacks," beautifully bound and printed for the family. So, when we had the chance to name our company "Featherbeds & Haystacks," we wanted to honor her legacy and share this hidden paradise with you.
Our hope is that you’ll find as much joy and create as many wonderful memories here as we have over the years. Welcome to a place that means so much to us—may it become a special part of your life as well.
