Podere Agrituristico Luchiano is situated in the heart of a beautiful area of Southern Umbria, unknown to most tourists, it extends between the rivers Tiber and Nera. Crossed by old Roman roads, this fascinating and authentic place, named Comprensorio Amerino, is very rich in nature, culture and traditions. The nearby town of Amelia, the most ancient mediaeval town of the Umbrian people, is worth visiting for its limestone polygonal walls (3rd cent. BC) as well as its churches, the marvellous historic palaces and the Roman Cistern.
The estate is located between Amelia (5 km) and Lugnano Teverina in (5 km) and lies on a small hill at 450 m above sea level and offers a stunning 360 degrees panoramic view over the surrounding hills and valleys.
The property is set in beautiful gardens and olive groves of around 2,000 trees. This 17th century Umbrian estate still preserves unique original features, including a rare threshing floor built with hand-made bricks, which was used by local farmers for threshing their grain by hand.
At Podere Luchiano, you will find the calm and serenity of times gone by, when the days went by slowly, and the contact with nature and its fruits was of primary importance to life. The atmosphere here is welcoming and friendly, ideal for relaxing and tasting the farm’s typical local products, such as extra virgin olive oil, olives in brine, honey, as well as season fruits and vegetables. The family, owners of the agriturismo, speak Italian, English and German and will personally welcome you and make you feel at home!
This agriturismo is a perfect base for walking and cycling. If you like excursions, an Environmental Excursion-Guide will accompany you on tours of different length and difficulty, including, for example, Mount Sibillini. Podere Luchiano also offer, for lovers of beauty and wellness, a choice of relax massages.
The location of the estate is perfect for touring the area, being close to a wealth of charming hill top towns such as Todi, Orvieto, Spoleto and Narni, and interesting naturalistic sites such as the Marmore Waterfalls and Bomarzo (Park of the Monsters). Roma, Perugia and Assisi, the town of St. Francis, are within easy reach, by road (one hour) or rail (1 and a half hours).
