You will never forget this peaceful refurbished two bedroom home that is part of an historic traditional stone barn surrounded by fields with distant views to the sea. The Creamery has been converted to a high standard and refurbished in 2023. It has an idyllic south facing french-style gravel and grass courtyard and private patio. (Sofa bed for 6th person - where linen is also available but will be charged extra if required - recommended for children or smaller adults). Dog friendly for a trained dog over one year. A Cot, stair gate and high Chair can be provided if required.

Free Parking for two cars. If you have a boat or an extra car, that can be parked in the main drive of Wild Goose Barn with owners agreement.

Just the perfect place to explore Devon's South Hams and its stunning beautiful sandy beaches, and many are also dog friendly. Dartmoor is nearby too.

There is a dedicated patio area and a huge mature garden to enjoy that is shared with Wild Goose Barn and which guests can enjoy during the day (open 1000 - 1900).

The Creamery is part of Wild Goose Barn, surrounded by open fields, and rolling Devon countryside in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and is nestled on the edge of the delightful historic Kingston village. It is just a walk to a number of stunning local sandy beaches including Wonwell, Aymer Cove, Westcombe, and Bigbury, and a shiort car ride to Mothercombe, Thurlestone, Bantham, Hope Cove, and North and South Sands (Salcombe).
The South West Coastal Path runs close by for any walkers and Dartmoor with its fells, is just 20mins drive away with stunning waterfalls and rivers all within easy reach for a great day out.
The iconic Burgh Island (of Agatha Christie fame) is just a 10 minute drive away with its infamous beach tractor and the Pilchard Inn serving delicious local crab sandwiches.
There are so many opportunities to get out on the water too. Bigbury beach can be great for swimming, surfing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. (There is a surf school at Bigbury beach where surfboards, paddleboards and sea kayaks can be hired).
For sailors Dartmouth, Salcombe, Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers are all within easy reach and all having stunning yacht havens. Dartmouth even has its own steam train.
Kingsbridge is great for shopping, quaint cafes, and supermarkets (Tesco and Morrisons).
The Dolphin Inn, is a great traditional local pub, in the local village of Kingston, just a short walk through the fields from The Creamery. There is a local village shop and Post Office in St Ann's Chapel (5 min drive) that stocks most basic things and local food products. Modbury has a Co-op just 10 minutes drive away. There are churches in most of the villages and the The Journey's End famous pub in Ringmore is a lovely walk through fields from The Creamery.

Host profile image
Simon and Rachel have recently moved to South Devon on retirement from the Armed Forces. We love Wild Goose Barn and all it has to offer - located in what we think is a most beautiful part of the world. We love sharing it with others too and so we have decided to let out The Creamery for holidays. We love sailing and being close to the sea and living the Devon life, especially a Devon Cream tea! Rachel continues working as a freelance writer. We look forward to welcoming you.

Why they chose this property

Rural area - peaceful location but close enough to towns and shops. Very close to the coast, sea and safe sandy beaches.

What makes this property unique

Very close to the coast, sea and safe sandy beaches. Unique old newly converted barn. High standards of cleaning for holiday guests (owners are a retired military family and have the highest of standards themselves)! Perfect location to explore coast and inland beauty spots of south Devon. Easy access to and from main roads while still being located in the heart of Devons rolling countryside, fields and trees.
