About this property
The Old Piggeries - sleeps 7 guests in 4 bedrooms
The Old Piggeries is a large detached holiday home situated on the edge of this beautiful, and much sought after village, adjacent to a gentle chalk stream with idyllic views of open farmland. The village is one of the main gateways to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. The popular Hive beach is just half a mile away, along with the coast path which leads to West Bexington and Chesil Beach beyond, and to also West Bay with its harbour and iconic cliffs.
On the ground floor of this generous property you will be welcomed with a limestone tiled hallway, and a beautiful wooden staircase, which is in character with the exposed timbers, beams and framework throughout the property. The first three bedrooms are situated on the ground floor, each having their own shower room, and the you will find the first of the two balconies that can be reached from the hallway or the king-size bedroom. You will also find a useful utility room on the ground floor.
On the first floor, you will find the well-equipped open plan kitchen and breakfast area with bench seating for seven guests, and here you can enjoy less formal meals such as breakfast or a snack lunch. Following through to the open-plan sitting and dining area, you will find a more formal dining table with seating for seven guests, a cosy sitting area with comfortable sofas and a gas log burning effect stove. Access to the upper full-length balcony can be gained through the glazed double doors, where you can take in the expansive rural views across the tranquil mill stream. Completing the first floor accommodation is a double bedroom, with an en-suite bathroom leading off from a hallway, and a library area with a desk and well-stocked bookshelves - every book worm's dream.
When staying at The Old Piggeries, guests are spoilt for choice with so much to do and see in the area, and this comfortable holiday home is ideal as a base for exploring the coast and countryside of this special part of South Dorset.
