We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas stay at Blue Rock. The house is beautiful and very well equipped for our party of ten.The location is perfect, with just a short walk to the beach or town centre. The return walk is quite steep, but we soon got used to it.The sea view from property is exceptional and is definitely the highlight of the house. We would definitely love to return in the future.Thank you to Parwin for her instructions and welcome to the property.
Thank you Parwin and David - we had a great time staying at Blue Rock. From the helpful pre-arrival call/instructions and cleanliness on arrival, to the amazing views and quality of facilities provided, Blue Rock made for a memorable home for a week!
This is a very nice home with a gorgeous view of St Ives and the water. The common space on the main floor was large enough for a family of six adults to gather together at mealtime. The large room on the top floor worked well for those that needed a remote workspace.
We had a fantastic holiday at this beautiful house which we found to be perfectly located for enjoying St Ives town and Porthminster Beach. Stunning views which will be hard to beat, we would love to come back.
Had a lovely stay, blue rock is exactly as presented in the advertisement pictures and a great place for a family stay, soaking up the views. Many thanks.
Beautiful and comfortable house with amazing views of St Ives bay. We saw dolphins, gannets, guillemots and numerous other birds at sea from the windows. It is in a fantastic location, in walking distance of numerous gorgeous beaches and the harbour. We ate out most nights and didn’t eat a less than very good meal.
This place was AMAZING! We loved everything from each floor and the space, the view was incredible. We loved family dinners outside. The parking right outside of the house. The location to multiple beaches/the town was so convenient. Our hosts were the best people we could of ever asked for. They were so kind and amazing to us and left us some goodies! We will definitely be back next year!
Late September week at Blue Rock, Porthminster, St Ives
We've just returned from a wonderful week in this beautifully appointed and very luxurious holiday home - Blue Rock, perched above Porthminster Beach - the property had everything we could wish for in a holiday home. Very helpful owners who were keen to make sure we had the very best time on holiday. We were a party of 5 adults ranging in age plus a dog and we are all agreed that Blue Rock is an excellent base for exploring St Ives and the surrounding areas. It also has parking for 3 cars - a rarity in St Ives! Thanks for a fabulous week.

A holiday home you won't want to leave !
Blue rock was exactly as described , we were met by the helpful caretaker Paul .All the rooms were immaculate. The top floor sitting room has wonderful views and unlike many rentals the seating is so comfortable .
The service from the owners could not be better and they were so helpful regarding our special requirements for my husbands medical condition.
Would recommend Blue rock rental and St Ives as a great holiday destination. We all look forward to a return visit !
We’ve just (sadly!) returned from a wonderful holiday in St Ives staying at Blue Rock. We just couldn’t get enough of the views! Fantastic location both from that point of view and access to everything including the town and beaches plus easy to get out to on the roads (or train or bus) to other places too - perfect! The property now has an additional shower room downstairs which was great. We were a smaller group than most but with specific dynamics (our son has severe autism) and we found that the space in the property was perfect for us as a family helping us to spend some much needed time together but also with room to give each other space. We were very sorry to be leaving!

Truly stunning home from home
Blue Rock really has the wow factor. Beautiful top floor lounge with magnificent views over the bay and plenty of comfortable seating for everybody. House has everthing you need with top quality furnishings and facilities. Information/instruction folder very informative and useful (this is often lacking in holiday lets). Also the welcome chocs & fizz were a very nice touch.
I was also impressed that the owner contacted us a couple of days before to check if we had any questions and to give us some tips.
We had a wonderful holiday and a very comfortable stay. I would have no hesitation recommending Blue Rock to anyone staying in St Ives.

Lovely property in an ideal location
Blue Rock is a beautiful property with lovely views, balcony, and stylish interiors. It is ideally located within easy walking distance of St. Ives and its beaches. If you have dogs, it is just a short stroll from Blue Rock to the Tregenna Castle Hotel where they have lovely walks for your dogs through the grounds with beautiful views of St. Ives. The owners of Blue Rock are very helpful and we found finding and accessing the property very easy thanks to their help. The property is large enough for more than one family, and the layout is very suitable for this, but equally Blue Rock is perfect just for a couple as there is a beautiful master bedroom on the same level as the balcony. It is great that Blue Rock welcomes dogs as there are beaches, the coastal path, footpaths and the lovely walks in the hotel grounds right on your doorstep.

A Cornish Christmas / New Year at Blue Rock
Our second visit to Blue Rock and it felt like coming home. Such a beautiful house with stunning views over the bay, the perfect way to enjoy a morning cuppa and relax after a busy Christmas.
The house is well equipped to a very high standard and the big comfy beds are very welcoming after a day of sea air!
We stayed as two families and found it very easy to cook and dine in the spacious open plan kitchen and seating area. It was so mild we were even able to enjoy a wander out onto the large balcony, again with spectacular views.
Excellent communication with the owners, Parwin & David and also the meet and greet with Paul was very informative.
We love St Ives and everything about this property really is fabulous. We have already booked again for a third time later this year and can’t wait to return!
Beautiful property but if I had of had the contract before I paid in full I would have cancelled, spent the whole holiday worrying about not letting the dog in the living room especially when house is open plan not dog friendly . So many rules on the contract could not relax.
Blue Rock is as good, if not better than the photos. A huge property with ample space in all areas and fully equipped with everything you could need in a home from home. Having multiple parking spaces, was handy when things got busy. Parwin & the team ensured everything was perfect and spotless for our arrival. Located within minutes walk of St Ives town, harbour, multiple beaches and the coastal footpaths, with fantastic views. The rail station is also located a few minutes walk and provides 5 adults and a dog return to Penzance for only £17.75 in total, St Michaels Mount is a short ride or an hours walk from Penzance station. OK, we timed it wrong and got slightly wet feet on our return along the causeway.
An excellent break in a one of a kind holiday home

Modern, luxury home with outstanding views
We arranged a last minute break at Blue Rock and Parwin, the owner, was extremely helpful with booking arrangements sorted in no time. This got us off to a good start and two days later we arrived at the fabulous Blue Rock where everything was ready for us, including chocolates and a bottle of bubbly - nice touch.
The house is fully equipped to a luxury standard. The ensuite bathroom (with underfloor heating) is just lovely: new, quality and modern fittings and the touch sensitive light mirror was great. The use of glass bricks in the shower continues the light and airy theme which is a key feature throughout the house.
Most of all, we just never tired of looking out of the windows at the sea and coast views. Would recommend without hesitation and hope to visit again.

Super Holiday !!
Blue Rock is a lovely house and extremely well equipped with everything we needed for a very enjoyable stay. The views from upstairs are stunning and we felt totally chilled out and relaxed as soon as we went through the door. It is the first accommodation we have ever stayed in where we wanted to stay for longer, usually we are ready for home after a week !!
The weather was very kind to us and we breakfasted on the balcony several times, even in late September, enjoyed a game of Rounders on the beach with a Cornish pasty and cider picnic! (Rattlers !!) and flew our seagull kites (which did not stop the real seagulls from trying to steal a pasty !! but we fended them off with the Rounders bat !!). We had great food in several of the lovely restaurants and enjoyed the art galleries and individual shops. Blue Rock is within such easy walking distance of all that St Ives has to offer.
A very memorable family holiday for all the generations from grandparents to one year olds, all helped by the wonderful house and great location.. we will be back.. That's assuming Blue Rock is not already fully booked for years to come !!
Well worth the five stars in every category. The house photos don't lie, the space, location, views (sea & St Ives) are exceptional making the most of even poor weather days. All appliances, furniture and provided sheets, towels etc were in keeping with the luxury feel. The layout is super over three floors making sleep comfortable on the lower floor, master bedroom on middle floor with the kitchen & family room/dining/large entrance hall. Then to top it all a large upper floor room with 180 degree views of St Ives, beach, whole extended bay, Godrevy lighthouse & beach, Mexico's beach , Gwithian/Towans beach and a sea horizon that goes on for ever. Although the weather wasn't the warmest (March), the house is cosy and the external areas (terraced garden & patio and balcony) look so-so good. Communication and care provided by Parwin Summers (owner) is second to none, plus the supporting team in St Ives ensure the house is squeaky clean as well as on hand to support. We had a brilliant stay with easy although hilly access to so many good places to eat and spend time within a short 5-10 min walk of the front door. The closest beach (5min walk) is also exceptional and only a 30 min walk to Carbis bay along the scenic coastal path with plenty on offer there, not least the sea views.
Thankyou Parwin & Tom for providing such a lovely facility for our use. Gary
Fabulous house and fantastic views from the kitchen/diner/master bedroom with even more breathtaking views right across St Ives from the lounge on the top floor (even better than the photos!). The house was very clean, beds comfy and decorated to a high specification. The owners were very friendly checking in with us before our stay and making recommendations on where to eat. Convenient and in walking distance to the many beautiful beaches, shops, cafes and restaurants but St Ives is hilly so the walk uphill home keeps you fit after all those lovely Cornish pasties and scones! We had a wonderful stay at Bluerock and loved St Ives and the many places we visited.and hope to return.

About the host
Hosted by David & Parwin Summers
Parwin & David purchased Blue Rock in 2012. Parwin is a school teacher and was born in the Punjab and David is a Chartered Surveyor and was born down the Road in St Columb Major.
Why they chose this property
David's dream has always been to own a property close to a great surfing beach and with spectacular sea views. Parwin, on the other hand, is a self-confessed chatter box who enjoys the arts and likes having lots of people around her.
They started searching for a holiday home in June 2012 but got off to a slow start as they were both looking for different properties.
Fortunately, their search came to an abrupt end when they found a house that ticked all of their boxes. Blue Rock is within easy walking distance of the centre of St Ives, overlooks Porthminster beach, the sea and the harbour. It is also close to Porthmeor beach (one of David's favourite surfing beaches) and has great car parking. What more could anyone ask for?
What makes this property unique
This lovely detached holiday home is superbly located 4 minutes walk from the centre of St Ives and 5 minutes walk from the Blue Flag Porthminster Beach, and has stunning views of the harbour and the sea.
With stylish interiors, this reverse level architect designed holiday accommodation combines the charm of the seaside with 21st-century convenience. Perfect for families or groups of friends.
It has 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, car parking for up to 3 cars and a Mediterranean style garden.
St Ives was awarded ‘Best UK Seaside Town’ in both 2010 and 2011. With cobbled streets and artists’ studios, it is a great place to chill out in pavement cafes or gourmet restaurants. The Tate gallery is also worth a visit.
