The garage apt was exactly what our family of 4 needed. All beds and bathroom are up a steep set of stairs, so the extremely young or elderly could struggle, though it is doable with the sturdy railing. Equipped with all the necessaries in a nice neighborhood at the edge of the Woodland Trust which allowed free access to hiking literally right out the back door. The hike afforded beautiful panoramic views of Belfast Lough and the North Channel. Apparently on clear days you can also see Scotland! Host Ronnie was delightful to talk to and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay including access to his garden areas and geo-dome. Wouldn’t change a thing.

A lovely flat with lots of room in a peaceful area with lovely hosts. Single bathroom is a jack and jill arrangement with no direct access from third bedroom but not a big deal and shower is good. Kitchen is fine, just needs a different mindset to a hotel, ensuring you take your own milk and supplies etc. Easy 10-15 minute drive into central Belfast. Would definitely recommend as a cost effective option to see Belfast (assuming you have a car) and thanks for having us!

Super-steep drive to the property, which truly lives up to its name—Treetops Loft! The view and location is stunning, quiet, and private. We were greeted by the host, who lead us inside and gave a quick tour. It’s a renovated garage, so the kitchen is downstairs and also the entry, you must climb steep and narrow indoor stairs to reach the bedrooms, bath, and sleeping quarters. Caution if this might be troublesome for you/your guests. Cute architectural details like slanted ceilings and skylights with loads of potential, but something ‘unfinished!’ about the place.

Good

The property was fine, we didn’t realise until we got there that the property is actually in a loft above garages, the photo is a bit misleading. Upstairs Is accessed by quite steep stairs however, it is warm and cosy with plenty of space. The kitchen is on the ground floor and was adequate to our needs. The only suggestion is a small table upstairs in the lounge and a gate at the top of the stairs for young children and dogs.

Check in was a major issue, hosts did not know we were coming so the gate was locked and the apartment was not prepared yet. We had to sit outside the gate and wait for them to throw sheets on the beds; towels were delivered later. On the 2nd night they did not realize we were returning and again had to gate closed. Beware their dogs do bite as my husband and I both got bit. They do have a dryer which was a plus. The unit is okay, beds were fairly comfortable.

Nice comfortable property and very helpful hosts. Very quiet and backed up to a nature preserve--could hear the owls at night! :) Kitchen was a bit damp, and washing machine took a long time, but we were grateful to have it!
