Bathroom - Rainfall Shower/bath with quality towels and essential amenities provided.
Bedrooms - First Floor bedroom with double bed and quality linen, ample hanging space within the wardrobe and TV in the room. This room also includes an ensuite with rainfall shower.
Second Floor bedroom with double bed and quality linen, ample hanging space. Hairdryer provided.
Internet - Wifi available from 11th July 2023.
Entertainment - TV with standard freeview channels.
We have an outside area which is enclosed if you're looking to bring your pet, with a hanging chair & BBQ.
We have space for parking directly outside the property (please make sure you park in the space closest to the cottage).

The Neighborhood:
Oakerthorpe Cottage is surrounded by incredible things to do and see, not to mention being on the doorstep of the Peak District National Park!
Black rocks carpark is a 2 minute walk from the cottage, this popular walking and climbing area has attractive circuit walks through adjoining woods and is rewarded with superb views. A short walk or ride along the trail to Sheep Pasture Top provides an excellent view of the Matlock Gorge, Cromford and the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
The cottage is perfectly based in between some beautiful villages such as Cromford which has a picturesque village pond and is a great base for exploring the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site.
On the other side of the cottage is Wirksworth, which has the benefits of both town and country living, with beautiful walking trails and countryside, immediately alongside excellent independent restaurants, pubs and shops.
Metres from the cottage there is the old railway trail which can lead you to Padley gorge and Grindleford.
Last but not least we are based on the southern tip the Peak District National Park, full of activates and places to see such as Matlock, Bakewell, Hope Valley and much more.
Getting Around:
The closest mainland train station is in nearby Cromford which is a short 8-minute bus journey.
From Cromford train station, you can travel both north and south on local EMR services, and Derby is a 25-minute journey south from this station where connections can be made to Nottingham, Sheffield, Manchester, Leicester and London, and vice versa. Travel to the cottage from London for example, is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes from St Pancras Station (including a short taxi ride from Cromford to the cottage).
There are regular buses operated by Trent Barton to and from Bolehill & Wirksworth, and you can easily access the latest timetables online. A variety of Trent Barton ‘sixes’ routes are the most regular and can take you to Cromford, Bakewell, Matlock & Matlock Bath in less than 20 minutes, as well as south to Derby via other towns & villages.
There are also several local mini cab companies, which you can find online.
