Holiday Apartment Roberta is located in the center of the town of Otranto and is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday near the city and the beach. The bright apartment is located on the 1st floor and has a living room with a sofa bed, a well-equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, and can therefore accommodate 6 people. The child-friendly apartment is also equipped with: air conditioning, television and washing machine. Outside there is a shower to cool off after a long day at the beach. The large balcony overlooking the sea offers relaxing hours of vacation in the open air. Enjoy delicious meals and end the evening with a view of the center of Otranto and the sea in the distance. Otranto, between sea and history
Otranto was born as a Messapian center in Roman and Byzantine times later only to undergo the Aragonese, of which significant traces remain with the presence of the great castle, around which the whole city has developed over time.
The historic center of Otranto is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, and in its streets and alleys you can breathe the scent of the history that characterized it.
In the 15th century Otranto was attacked by the Turkish fleet, which found the resistance of the Otranto, who decided not to give in to the request for retraction made by the Muslims, who in response killed 800 people on the Colle della Minerva, those who today represent the holy martyrs of Otranto , whose remains are preserved in the beautiful Norman Cathedral of Otranto.
In the same Cathedral of Santa Maria Annunziata, you can see the largest mosaic in Italy, the Tree of Life, which extends along the aisles, made by the monk Pantaleone.
