Chilled out weekend in the Cotswolds
The cottage was very presentable on arrival. We were greeted with a lovely display of scones, jam and clotted cream along with bread, eggs and milk which was a lovely touch. The cottage is very basic but has everything you could possibly need. The surroundings are very peaceful with lots of walks to go on to other villages and the scenery is breathtaking. The Black Horse is a 100 yards from the cottage serving traditional pub grub. Getting around is easy and there are a lot of beautiful villages close by to visit.
Thank you Maxine for your lovely review. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay at Gleed Cottage and loved the scones, jam and clotted cream. We do hope you will be back to stay with us again!
Perfect in every way
Absolutely loved every second of our stay in Gleed And the village is just as beautiful
Many thanks for taking the time to review Gleed Cottage. We are so pleased you loved your stay - just what we want to hear! We hope that you will revisit the area again sometime soon!
Lovely stay in a lovely cottage welcome was v friendly. Plus good menu advice at the pub which is great. The village is really quiet as the road bypasses it. Bit weird the way all the properties gardens interlace but freindly neighbourhood. Great to walk out of the door for lovely long walks with no car driving.
Than you for the lovely review Ian. We're delighted to hear that you found the hosts to be welcoming and that you had an enjoyable stay at Gleed Cottage. Quaint countryside cottage
Lovely stay in Glede Cottage. It’s a fantastic location in a nice tiny village and a very short drive away from Stow and Bourton. We did some lovely walks straight from the cottage. The cottage itself was well presented with everything you need e.g. including washing up liquid, tea bags and salt etc in the kitchen etc that you cant always pack to take with you. We were provided with some delicious scones, jam and cream on arrival and some lovely cookies later in which was very sweet. The cottage has three floors with two bedrooms and one bathroom in the middle. It’s reasonably old fashioned as you might expect, but looks nice and was clean and tidy. Worth noting that the bed in the double room was very firm whixh isn’t for everyone, but lots of pillows and a big duvet. It’s a chilly house but has great electric radiators that can be programmed and worked well. The entrance is through someone else’s garden and there’s neighbours passing by the windows which was kinda nice as all were pretty friendly. There was a clip on highchair for my daughter and a stair gate for the kitchen which was pretty essential for us. I would say it’s not ideal for toddlers though as there are 2 flights of stairs and wide spaced banisters on the top floor where my daughter was sleeping so we had to keep a very close eye on her. For slightly older children it would be ok. Overall thanks for a lovely stay, all arranged very smoothly and efficiently by Home Away at the last minute and special thank you for sending on something that I accidentally left behind. We would recommend to others.
Wow, thank you for your fantastic review, Sarah. We're so thrilled to hear that you loved Gleed Cottage and that you had an enjoyable time exploring the surrounding area. We hope that you visit the Cotswolds again soon!
Cosy, comfortable and very welcoming
The cottage was a really great place to stay for a few days whilst walking the Cotswold Way. Everyone in the village was welcoming to us and the pub was very friendly with great food. Thanks to Jayne for the welcoming touches.
