A lovely little cottage style holiday home - highly recommended
A really lovely place to stay. It has a real 'cottage' vibe to it, and is a very quiet place to stay as it is tucked away down a little path way. It was a great place for a longer stay.
In a good, clean, and nice condition (like all holiday rentals, it has some things that need addressing, and though it is all clean when you look more closely it isn't as clean as your own home, but then I am aware I like my home cleaner/tidier than many people, so this is a personal taste issue). The heating is great, a lovely and warm place to stay. The living room and kitchen do overlook a shared courtyard with two other properties in the same building but that didn't feel intrusive. Stays York was responsive to issues and friendly to deal with, we would definitely use them again.
The kitchen is especially nice, a light and airy space. As others mention in reviews, the fixed shower door on the bath is not ideal, as it's harder to clamber in and out of the bath (that bathroom could be better laid out/designed).
Well worth staying here, as you are in easy walking distance of York, but tucked a way in a quiet spot. The little garden area is also a great asset, and the parking space is also really handy to have.

Excellent finish but not suitable for families
We thought this was a beautifully finished and excellently located property for a weeks city break in York, however it's just too small for a family and lacking some plastics in kitchen for children. Our boys are 13 and 10 and there was nowhere for us all to sit and watch TV on a night we there is only a 2 seater couch in the lounge (which is very uncomfortable and thin). If you have younger children you wouldn't be able to bath them as shower screen in bathroom blocks access to taps and very hard to access plug etc round it. It's really a gorgeous tiny house but only for adults. It's also terribly overlooked buy courtyard neighbours which isn't obvious from the pictures meaning that we spent most of the week with all the curtains drawn which was a shame.
