About this property
Hillfarrow Hideaway
Tucked away on the outskirts of Burlescombe near Uffculme in Devon, is this lovely one-bedroom barn conversion, Hillfarrow Hideaway.
A welcoming interior awaits, full of delicate finishing touches, including the old oak breakfast countertop and hand-crafted sliding door which screens the bedroom, make this property a delight for two to stay.
All on one level, enter the open-plan living space and into the small, yet well-equipped kitchenette with a combi oven/microwave, fridge and kettle. Whip up a tasty meal to enjoy on the rear enclosed patio, or around the breakfast bar. As the evening draws in, why not curl up on the plush sofa and select a family favourite from the TV in front of the electric fire. With a stargazing window viewed from the suspended king-size bed, you can marvel at the night sky in this section of the International Dark Skies Reserve.
Situated within the rich heritage of Mid Devon, there is so much to discover including local museums, castles, and historic houses. There are many stunning beaches within 30 minutes drive - North or South! The Jurassic Coastline is within 45 mins drive and for those avid surfers Woolacombe etc. is approximately 30 minutes drive away. For nature enthusiasts you can immerse yourself in the idyllic Blackdown Hills AONB or Culmstock Beacon (AONB), keeping an eye out for the wide variety of wildlife. With scenic viewpoints, country villages and unspoilt natural beauty, Devon’s untouched surroundings are mesmerising.
Although peacefully tucked away, Hillfarrow Hideaway is easy to reach and close by all Devon’s main road arteries being just off junction 27 of the M5. A great central base for those wanting to visit Exeter, Taunton, North Devon, the south coast, Exmoor or even Bath.
Many local attractions are within easy reach which makes for fun filled day trips to: Dunster, Marine Aquarium, Weston Super Mare, Farleigh Castle, Bath, Dartmoor Zoo, Crealy Adventure Park, Exeter Cathedral, Buckfast Abbey plus many more. There is plenty of local food and drink to enjoy, either from the many markets and farm shops, or in the wide variety of cafes, pubs, and restaurants.
Off road parking is available for one vehicle, and one well behaved dog is welcome at this property. For bookings and more information please contact Finest Retreats.
