This apartment is managed by a company, not a personal owner, and it was disappointing. The company communicated well until my reservation began, and then it never responded to my question and comments on the first day (3 different company people had written to me previously). It also stated that its own system is not “connected” to VRBO and that I needed to pay outside of the VRBO system, which cost me additional fees. I had to pick up the keys myself from a shop 502 meters from the apartment, which I learned 2 days before my reservation started. The apartment seems to be a renovated commercial space with businesses on both sides. The apartment occupancy lists 4 people, but there were only 4 teaspoons, 4 plates, 4 forks, etc., so this arrangement is not good for longer stays. The washer was nice, and the master bathroom shower was wonderful, but when the weather got warmer, a sewage smell came up through the drain. The bedroom mattress felt like a soft, bouncy innerspring. The bed was on pegs, so it wobbled and shook. Most noticeably, there was a mechanical hum, ending with a valve-type “clunk” noise, repeating all day and all night, loudest in the bedroom. It may be some mechanical system of the larger building. Because of that, combined with the sound of wastewater hitting the ceiling (there is ceiling water damage visible outside the bedroom), I turned my laptop into the loudest white-noise machine possible (I don’t normally use white noise) to be able to sleep at night.
