Oban is a thriving town full of restaurants, cafes, shops and bars providing everything required for an ideal break. Whether you are travelling for a boat excursion, a family holiday or working trip, the apartment’s location will suit all. The building sits next to Tweeddale Street Car Park or you can use any of the on street parking close by.
There is lots going on for the visitor at any time of the year in Oban. Central for touring Argyll and known as the ‘Gateway to the Isles’, with ferries leaving daily to many of the islands, such as Mull, Iona, Staffa, Lismore. An abundance of outdoor sports to enjoy locally, with a kayaking centre just yards away, which launches into Oban Bay, directly in front of the apartment. In keeping with its reputation as the Seafood Capital of Scotland, there are some excellent restaurants, cafés and pubs nearby, for relaxing at after a pleasant day out exploring all the wonderful scenery and interesting attractions which Argyll has to offer. There is a lovely sandy beach at Ganavan, just two miles’ drive along the coastal road. Dunollie, Dunstaffnage and Kilchurn Castles are some of the nearby castles to visit as part of a day’s sightseeing. Further afield but within an hour’s drive, visitors can enjoy the scenery of Glencoe, take a trip to Fort William to see Ben Nevis or catch the steam train to Mallaig, or take a visit to Inveraray to enjoy the castle or infamous jail.
