In an idyllic situation where nothing was too much for our hosts in making sure that we had a good timeThe property was clean, tidy and up-to-date albeit little lacking in kitchen cutleryThere are no local shopping facilities but if you go prepared then this is not a problemWe would give this 9 out of 10
This property exceeded my expectations.Fantastic house would be an understatement.Spectacular views of the Lough and surrounding area.Great Cafe and Bar about 15 minutes beautiful walk away. Many thanks Hazel
The property was everything promised and even nicer than the photos. Wonderful and up-to-date appliances, comfy beds, great bathrooms ... all good!
We enjoyed our time there with easy access to all the sites we wanted to see from 30 mins to 2-hour drives for our day trips. Oban was close by with well stocked grocery stores and many, many restaurants.
Would highly recommend.

Liked: Location
Disliked: Check-in
Originally sent to a unit that we didn’t book, spent one night there before issue was corrected. Storm Amy blew in and power was out for the rest of our stay (not the VRBO owners fault), Matthew was super helpful to do what he could, but overall, I think the management could/should have been better prepared for those types of issues (more torches, perhaps generators).
The property exceeded our expectations as it had recently undergone a full upgrade. It offered absolutely everything we needed and provided an extremely comfortable stay.
Not only was the property fabulous, the location and general environment was perfect. We were able to enjoy clean and safe kayaking, paddle boarding and wild swimming on a daily basis.
Finally, the service we received from Hazel and the lovely maintenance person was A1. They both provided the highest level of service and ensured that the property met all our needs.
I could use the normal words to describe the location, accommodation, friendlyness of people etc. but they would do the place justice. Within ten minute after arriving my wife and I almost said at the same time, I feel so relaxed and we are just here. That was how it was for our entire stay and we both agreed we just needed to stay an extra day if it was possible. I spoke to the manager Hazel and within a couple of minutes it was fixed. If you are looking for a place to relax and get away from rushing about, we would suggest you would be very fortunate to find a better place. We will be going back now we have found it.
Loved our stay. Beautiful setting views are amazing. Had problem with hot water, was off for 2 days but we were offered to use another house. Wouldn't let this put anyone off,the whole place is beautiful x
Calm, peaceful stay on a journey around Scotland. All the kitchen items a cook could want! Beautiful views over the Loch, wish we could have stayed longer!
The apartments here are in such a fabulous location. We had a fabulous time exploring the local area and the immediate access to fishing.
Our hosts were super friendly and helpful too. Couldn't fault it!
The view from our property was incredible- Scotland at its best. Great enclosed outdoor seating area. Lovely restaurant a very easy walk away in Melfort Village. Really enjoyed our stay.

Great properties, fabulous views, in a secluded waterfront setting.
Just back from a two night stay at Melfort Pier and harbour lodges. The location , views , peace and tranquility of staying at this property have left us totally relaxed and refreshed. We took our two dogs and the walks surrounding the property are excellent. We stayed in the ‘anchorage’ property, a two bed , very spacious lodge, which was very well equipped. It had amazing views over the water from the open plan kitchen / lounge areas. It also had a patio area and terrace around the front of the property which looked onto the pier and harbour.
And a special mention for Mary the on site representative. She was a gem and made us feel very very welcome.
You may wonder why not five stars? Well the location is truly wonderful and fully deserves five stars . The lodges are fully equipped as mentioned, but the decor and furnishings, bed linen etc in the lodge could be refreshed. So 4 stars overall.
Would we go back.. absolutely and we’re already thinking about our next visit.

Dear Stuart, Thank you so very much for taking your time to write such a good review. We agree with every thing you say but …….
These are working houses and not a private home. Every thing must be very solid and strong as we have guests over 300 pounds, dancing on the tables, playing football inside the cottage. Jumping on the beds, wet dogs coming straight from the beach , and shaking themselves dry inside …..etc etc
This would not happend in your or my home but it happens here. : 0
We clean every thing with a very strong disinfected so very thing is fresh for the next guests. It discolours the linen in a few washes. We had a very busy summer and in the winter all the houses get painted and refresh.
But like you our guests like to feel relaxed in the houses, and do not feel like they are sitting in Grandma's palor. You were one of our cleanest guests...and with clean little dogs. If all our guests were like you ….we can make Melfort a more posh place.
Thank you again for your review, and we are looking forward to welcome you all 4 back again to Melfort Pier .
Best wishes, Mary
