We had a brilliant trip to London staying on the canal boat. Little Venice is such a lovely place to be.The boat has everything you will need and the hosts were fantastic, sorting out any issues promptly for us. Something a bit different, I would definitely recommend
We loved the Canal boat. The experience was a very unique one for our first time in London. There are multiple restaurants very close and stores for any food/drinks you might want with you on the boat. We would visit again!
Only booked for 1 night with our 7 year old granddaughter. The boat was very clean had everything we needed and was a great experience . However she now wants me to sell our house and buy a boat ! Highly recommend as a new experience
This is a different experience for travellers to London - staying on a traditional canal boat in a beautiful part of the city. It's not a five star hotel, but that's not the point. Comfortable and easy once you get the hang of it. The owner is super helpful should you require anything.
Nice adventure for our boys, something different. Great location 10 min walk from Paddington Station. Boat was clean, comfy beds and had everything you need.
The overall experience of staying on the boat was great! Everything was nice and clean. The beds were VERY comfy! The host was very communicative with everything since there were a lot of bits to staying here. The host also took us for a ride down the canal and it was wonderful!! Highly recommend this VRBO.
Really cool experience! If it is your first time on a narrow boat, it can be a bit confusing, so be sure to ask lots of questions. The boat was very cute. We had asked if there would be a door to separate our daughters’ room from ours and were told that there would be, but there wasn’t. All in all, we are glad we stayed. Thanks!
10/10 experience. Unique. Clean. Easy. Serene. Will 100 percent be back. Great hosts. If you’re on the fence about booking this, don’t be. 100 percent must do.
A hard copy of boat instructions would be very helpful to have had on board boat, so that it could be easily accessed without having to check on phone or calling host.
We enjoyed our stay and it was my 3 year old's favorite part of the trip. It did take some time getting used to the rocking, the toilet process, and cold showers but it was fun and we all look back saying "we had a great time together". Neighborhood was cool!

Thanks for coming and so pleased you enjoyed your boat stay. Sorry you didn’t see the boiler water switch as discussed in the guide - will ensure it’s clearly shown for future guests’ hot showers.
A truly charming and affordable way to visit London! My friend and I loved our time on the narrowboat. The host was very friendly and communicative. The boat itself was clean, quiet, and easily accessible from Paddington station. One consideration is that my friend and I are short little ladies. If you're on the tall or large side, taking a shower or shimmying down the skinny hallway may be challenge. But the challenge is in the name: narrowboat. That it is! But the tiny quarters are what make this a unique, and enjoyable, place to stay.
We enjoyed staying in the cosy houseboat a lot! Very special place and great host!
Very easy and quick communication with the host - thanks TJ!
Less space than we thought looking to the pictures (where you never see the corridor next to the beds), and cold water in the shower in the first morning. TJ helped out though.
All in all enjoyable! Thanks!
Loved our stay on this barge. Thomas was a great host. I’m not very techno minded, it would have been helpful if there was a copy of all instructions on the boat. Other than that perfect. We even had a tour on the canal to Camden, perfection in its self. X
As a sailboat enthusiast I thought a canal boat would be a wonderful place to stay on our trip. The canal boat in the picture depicts a pristine scene rather than our reality where both sides of the canal were jammed packed with boats rafted to each other. Many canoes and other water vehicles were propelled noisily between the boats. This canal boat looked fabulous in the pictures but was much less inviting when on board. The kitchen lacked a refrigerator. The bathroom had a port-a-potty. There was no Wi-Fi. The canal boat was not charming quite a disappointment for the money.

Hello Theresse,
Although the listing is for a canal boat instead of a luxury yacht we’re sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay as much as our other guests. Little Venice is normally a very peaceful place especially considering it’s right in the centre of London. As mentioned the boat is exists in isolation so waste is recycled - and the mobile data / WiFi normally works on the canal network (we’d been able to help you here). Let us know if you’d like to try again sometime to make the experience better for you.
The canal boat was in a good location for the 15 minute walk to the Paddington Station, along the nice walking path right along the canal: right out of Paddington Station, along the canal and to the boat. There was a nice restaurant right across the walking bridge beside the boat, with grocery shopping about another 10 minutes from that same side of the canal. The beds were comfortable and there was an ample supply of bedding and dishes. We had problems getting hot water due our lack of experience with solar battery (the only source of power) and timing of getting hot water; and there is no refrigerator. The solar battery had ports for charging our electronics and phones, in the bathroom cabinet. The gas stove and little heater worked fine. Seating for 3 friends was bit of an issue as we needed to use the end of one of the 3 beds for a seat. If you are a hefty person, this may not be the place for you as the passage way between the beds, walls and washroom are tight.
We really enjoyed our stay in this very unique accommodation. The boat is moored in a second-row position in a charming neighborhood and is close to several метро stations. It’s long and narrow, full of character, and well equipped. We had a bit of trouble getting the hot water and heating to work at first, so the first morning was a little complicated. However, the owner was extremely responsive when we called for help and came shortly after to assist us, very kindly. The bedding is comfortable. One thing to note: the hot water tank allows for three quick showers in a row, so you need to be a bit organized if there are more of you. It’s very likely that I will rent it again when I come back to London.

Disliked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Unfortunately, what I can tell you about our stay is that we did NOT stay. The property listing is so far from accurate to what we found when we showed up that for the comfort and safety of my family we quickly booked a hotel and left the property. The listing does not mention before you book:-showers will be limited to 1-2 minutes-there is not adequate power for a hair dryer or any kind of reliable power solution at all (we couldn't find a place to charge our phones, there was no reliable internet) - so despite these things being listed as available amenities, they are not.-Though the listing makes it appear as though the boat is moored on it's own with a reasonable distance between it and the neighboring boat - it is in fact surrounded in by other boats and you have to step over a different boat to access this one. Additionally, even though I had told the host before booking that multiple members of my family are over 6'2" and I wanted to ensure their comfort, the shower was so ridiculously small that my partner was crouched over and the shower head came up to his crotch. Lastly, and the worst part, is that the location is unsanitary. The entry way to the boat is littered with garbage, there is standing still water, and garbage floating in the canal. The boat was stifling hot when we arrived, there were no fans, so we opened the windows, and the boat promptly filled with mosquitoes. Save yourself the money and trauma. For the price he's charging, book a hotel!

Hello - we’re sorry your experience wasn’t as positive as you’d hoped. I believe reading the guest guide ahead of time would have mitigated these issues and helped you work everything in the boat - so we’ll be sure to provide a translated copy for future guests.
