Crows Nest - Tranquility in Historic Faro

Nestled inside the ancient walls of Faro with stunning roof terrace views, there is nothing about the traditional frontage of Ninho do Corvo which prepares you for the chic and chilled interior which awaits. Created by a product designer and an innovative architect, this restored townhouse - named Crows Nest - is bursting with modernity and attention to detail at every turn. A place of calm and a retreat from the bustle of everyday life it reflects the personality of the owners - a true escape.

There is full air-conditioning throughout the house with underfloor heating for the colder months. The master bedroom has a queen double bed and an en-suite bathroom with bidet and walk-in shower. The second bedroom has a queen double bed that can easily be converted into 2 single beds. The second bathroom also has a walk-in shower. The upstairs open plan living area has a sleek modern fully equipped kitchen and a stylish lounge with comfortable seating and dining table for four. The panoramic folding glass wall in the living area leads out to the patio where you can enjoy al fresco dining. From here, the staircase leads up to the Crows Nest where you can relax on the comfortable sofas, soak up all day sunshine while gazing out to the Ria Formosa or hear the bells of the Cathedral of Faro. Additional comforts are a Bose SoundLink Revolve, access to Netflix and Amazon Prime, Ninja Nutri Blender, Lavazza Coffee machine and coffee pods and Ice Maker. Mobile phone chargers for both Apple and Android are also provided.

Other things to note
The house is professionally managed by a property company; on arrival, you will be personally met by Daniel who will show you around the house.

The house is not suitable for children under12 years old nor those with accessibility issues due to the stairs.

To ensure the house can be properly cleaned and is not rushed, there will be 1 clear day between each booking.

Perfect location in the Old Town with views from the roof terrace over the rooftops to the Cathedral and Ria Formosa. A stone's throw from the jetty for boats to the beaches/islands and easy distance to restaurants all over the town and the bus station. Great sized accomodation for a family of 4 to chill out and cool down. Owner in UK and manager in Faro both very helpful and friendly. Would recommend!

The Crow's Nest is located in Faro's Old Historic Town with numerous restaurants within the Old Town that are always busy. The cathedral is also nearby and the tolling of its bells on the half and hour is very melodious and something to look forward to.The Crow's Nest is completely refurbished and it is clear great time and effort went into creating a most wonderful home to stay. One of its features is the upper rooftop deck which is perfect for late day planning, catching up and viewing the surrounding sites from atop, e.g., waterfront, etc.The home is just as described on the listing - clean, modernized and the kitchen offers everything one needs to make in-home meals. The bedrooms and bathrooms offer spa-like amenities. The 'host' and 'property manager' are wonderful to work with - each is very accommodating and focused on you enjoying the Crow's Nest and the home, itself.It is the perfect location both for touring Faro - its local restaurants, not to be missed sights, grocery shopping and so on. Faro is central so that our visits to East and West Algarve were very easy to arrange and manage - again, the perfect location.We will remember the Crow's Nest and Faro with fondness - it is very peaceful and taking in the culture and ways of the Portuguese peoples was an experience we will treasure.Thank you Lizzy (host) and Daniel (property manager) - it was a sincere pleasure to get to know you and we love the Crow's Nest.

Great Location in Old Town

The property was very comfortable for our group of four seniors. It is easy to walk to the shops and restaurants outside the wall. The rooftop patio is small, but we enjoyed spending a bit of time there each evening. The property is equipped with everything you will need for a lovely stay.

We loved our stay in the Crow’s Nest. Everything in Faro was under a ten minute walk away. It was a great base for exploring the region. We ate some delicious meals in town, and cooked our own meals in the well appointed kitchen. The apartment was quiet and heated. We would definitely come again!

Cutest Place in Best Location

The place was exactly as described and pictured. It is a great place to stay in Faro due to its perfect location and modern amenities. Both the owner and the property manager were easy to work with and made booking and checking in and out a breeze. The name “Crow’s Nest” is very apropos! Check it out and enjoy all that Faro has to offer.

Faro Fado Fabulous

Staying with close friends from Australia, another couple. House set up very easy to use and location well situated. Had all the things needed to make the stay a happy time. Old town shops and restaurants nearby. We recommend the fado guitar at the tourist centre, just outside the cathedral gates. The only negative thing about the trip was I wasn’t allowed to buy and take home a fado guitar :(. (Guitar shop to get one if your other half allows is Tino’s music store).

Five star stay for our vacation

We enjoyed a lovely 8-day stay at the Crow's Nest while attending a wedding and spending time vacationing in the area. After exploring the entire Algarve area from Sagres to Tavira, we can confidently say there is no better central location in southern Portugal than Faro and the Crow's Nest within the old fortress could not have made for a better location. It put us within walking distance of the Porta Nova boat ferry for access to the offshore islands, the train station, as well as fantastic restaurants and sightseeing. And airport was a quick taxi ride away. Lizzy's communication was so kind and straightforward and Daniel greeted us, saw us off and was quickly responsive with any questions we had during our stay. The Crow's Nest had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and was such a retreat after our full days kayaking and sightseeing in the Algarve. We are already planning our next trip to explore more of Portugal as we consider the possibility of seasonally living abroad, and will absolutely stay at the Crow's Nest again when we return to the Algarve. We are from the UK and fell in love with Portugal way back in 1998, Like migrating birds, we would escape to Faro at the end of each September for the last of the summer sun, the wonderful beaches, enjoy the fresh food and relax.

Why they chose this property

Faro is a busy vibrant town just 12 mins taxi ride from the airport. There is a wealth of restaurants and bars within a 2-10 minute walk form the house (6 alone within 2 mins); the island beaches of Deserta, Faro and Cultura are a 2-minute walk through the Porta Nova gate out of the castle walls to the ferry pier and the Largo de Se with Faro's beautiful Cathedral is literally just outside the house. The marina, supermarkets and pretty pedestrianised cobbled streets of Faro Old Town - with bars, shops and restaurants - are all a 5 minute walk in any direction outside the castle walls. Perfect for long weekend escapes or a home from home base for longer stays to soak up the culture, food and sunshine.

What makes this property unique

Crows Nest is a traditional old townhouse in the heart of the ancient walls of Faro's historic centre which we totally restored in 2018. Whilst retaining its wonderful heritage, the interior is modern with all comforts. It is our home with personal belongings and we invite you to stay and enjoy the roof terrace with it wonderful views of rood terraces and the Ria Formosa and also fall in love with Faro and Portugal like we have.
