About this property
School Cottage - a cottage that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
This beautifully refurbished property is the perfect place from which to enjoy Marazion's exceptional beaches, superb restaurants and wonderful coastal walks. A true home away from home, on the ground floor you'll discover a large fully equipped kitchen with everything you'll need to rustle up delicious home cooked fare. Also on this floor, a tastefully furnished living room with sinkable sofas and a log burner invites you to unwind in blissful comfort no matter the weather. Upstairs two light and airy bedrooms as well as a family shower room offer ample space for four guests, while outside there's a sunny courtyard garden with a dining suite for warm weather feasts, or simply lazing in the fresh air.
A short stroll away, the heart of the vibrant seaside town of Marazion welcomes you with open arms and here you'll find various good places to eat out, including restaurants with sea views, coffee shops and bakeries. Marazion's beaches are a dream for anyone who enjoys fun on the sand and in the water, and whether you're a seasoned pro or a complete beginner, its beach-based surf school will help you take to the surf. If you fancy venturing out then why not take a drive along the coast to discover Praa Sands and Sennen Cove, two fantastic beaches just a few miles away. Closer still is Penzance where you'll find Jubilee Pool, the UK's largest Art Deco pool boasting a sea water lido and a geothermal heated pool.
Further down the coast from Penzance is the up-and-coming fishing port of Newlyn where you can visit art galleries, peruse independent shops and sample some fantastic seafood, while magical Mousehole (one of Cornwall's prettiest villages) is the next spot along the coast and a must-visit place during your stay. The National Trust-owned Godolphin House with its expansive 500-acre woodlands and scenic walks is within easy reach along with Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens, Trengwainton Gardens, and Polgoon Vineyard.
Good Housekeeping Bond: We ask our guests for a £150 good housekeeping bond, which is pre-authorised against your card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved (held as a pending transaction) and then released afterwards if there is no damage or additional cleaning. This will be held on the card on file 7 days prior to your arrival.
Pets: 2 pets allowed, £40 per pet per stay/week, in line with our house rules we do ask that pets are not left alone in the property, do not use the furniture or go in the upstairs/bedroom areas.
