About this property
IVY COTTAGE PULBOROUGH
Georgian grade 2 listed stone built cottage in the historic centre of Pulborough overlooking the medieval church. It retains its old character but has modern amenities and comfort with plenty of space. The large conservatory overlooks the pretty cottage garden fully stocked with plants with a secluded sitting area. The house is quiet despite being close to the A29 road and is 5 minutes walk from the station and Tesco and footpaths easily accessible. Beaches and Goodwood are within 20 minutes.
We have decorated the house as if it were our own home to make it welcoming and non-corporate. It is cosy in winter and cool in summer with furnishings in keeping with the period of the cottage. Some of the doorways upstairs are a bit low. Soft furnishings are to a high standard and in neutral colours.
The whole cottage and garden are for the guests sole use
The owners live next door and generally greet guests and show them round the cottage. We are available if not at home on the telephone and can provide help and advice as required.
The area is replete with attractions including country houses, Petworth House, Arundel Castle, Elizabethan Parham House, within 20 minutes. Pulborough is on the river Arun, which forms the northern border of the South Downs National Park, with excellent walks.
Goodwood House is close by with its racing, Festival of Speed and Goodwood revival car events. The historic city of Chichester is 30 minutes away with its cathedral, museums and the Chichester Festival theatre.
Petworth is five miles away with its historic centre, antique shops and boutique restaurants.
There are golf courses at Midhurst and Goodwood.
The RSPB reserve is three miles away and the Wetlands Trust is at Arundel.
For garden lovers, there is a garden at Parham house and an excellent National Trust garden at Woolbeding near Mjdhurst. Arundel Castle has a fine Bannerman designed garden.
Beaches on the South coast can reached within half an hour.
The house is 5 minutes walk from the railway station, which connects Pulborough with London and the Coast. There are local bus services and plenty of walks in the locality, including a signposted heritage trail to the local bird reserve.
Direct trains go from Pulborough station (walking distance) to London.
Parking is on the road just outside the cottage. The parish church is right opposite the cottage.
