Harbour Hideaway situated in St.Monans located just over 12 miles south of St Andrews, St Monans is the smallest of the East Neuk fishing ports. Here you’ll find an attractive village with many charming 17th and 18th century pantiled houses that crowd the harbourside. The property comfortable sleeps 6 with 3 double bedrooms, large open plan kitchen and dining area, two bathrooms, lounge and a garden/courtyard with garden furniture.
Whilst staying in St.Monans you will be just a short walk from joining the Fife Coastal Path taking you in one direction towards Pittenweem and Anstruther or in the other towards Elie.
Although the smallest of the East Neuk fishng ports there is still some exploring to do. Fishing and salt production were once the main industries here, and the old saltpans can still be seen, along with a reconstructed stone windmill that was used to pump sea water up to them.
Almost on the foreshore, there is a beautiful little church, built originally in the 14th century by David II in gratitude for having survived a shipwreck on the coast nearby. It was restored in the early 19th century and now serves as the local parish church.
St Monans lies directly on the Fife Coastal Path, so is very popular with walkers. The remains of Newark Castle, with its circular beehive dovecot are further along the coastal path to the west of the village.

The house was lovely. Only improvement I would make to rooms is the window and glass doors coverings. Too much light getting in, in the mornings and that will be same as days lengthen in summer. No covering over front and back door or kitchen/utility either which made the place feel chilly although it wasn't.
Really comfy and homely though. Loved the decor and the wee patio area was fab. There looked like a hole in one of the down pipes you want to look at.

Liked: Cleanliness, communication
Loved the house but courtyard looking a little sad.
Nice and warm. Rooms very attractive and I and my husband enjoyed our stay very much and hope to be back one day.
Thanks
Lovely modernised property beside the harbour in St Monans. Very clean and spacious.
Note that all beds are doubles on the ground floor, bathroom and living space on first floor
Ignore requests from property agents for “check in information”- attempting to gather far too much unnecessary personal information for marketing purposes.
