A fabulous property in a beautiful location. The property was very clean and had everything that you could need for a wonderful stay. The owner was very helpful both during the booking process and during our stay. Would definitely recommend!
This place is a fantastic restoration of lovely building. The place has been carefully considered, has a whopping fireplace and some lovely original features. It has everything needed for self-catering and comfort- great shower, great kitchen, great beds! Plus Max was really helpful. The real highlight is that a visit to Chillingham castle nextdoor is quite unforgettable.
We had a fantastic time at East Lodge. The property was cosy, quirky and very clean. It had a historical feel with all the modern comforts. We loved exploring Chillingham castle grounds and gardens and we booked onto the Family Ghost Tour which was brilliant! We had such a lovely weekend and intend to visit again. Highly recommended.
Our recent stay as East Lodge was wonderful. The property is set in castle grounds, in a fairly secluded area. The property has all amenities you could ask for, and the owners guide is very thorough, full of recommendations and is quite humorous. There are so many places to visit nearby which makes Chillingham such a good base. Max called in to check we were having a good time and all was well with the property which was a nice touch. I wouldn’t hesitate to reach out to Max as he is full of recommendations and genuinely wants you to have a brilliant stay. Will be back again to stay.
The Rental is actually a mini-castle that was the gate house for the main castle. It was very nice inside with all the modern amenities , the host was great he was very responsive and helpful and as well as Chillingham castle there were several other castles within a short driving distance . The countryside is quite beautiful with lots of wildlife and domesticated animals to see . The national forest is also a short drive away and has great walking trails and sights to see . One note : definitely rent a car to get around to all there is to see and do
We’ve just returned from 3 nights at East Lodge. What can I say other than wow! It’s a great little house, quirky and unique, in a really beautiful and remote setting. There’s no light or noise pollution, just peace and quiet, plus the fantastic backdrop of Chillingham Castle at the end of the garden. East Lodge is well equipped, the guidebook is detailed and helpful and Max was a great host. We loved the log burner and the house has everything else you could possibly need for a short stay. The location is perfect for exploring both the coast and countryside of beautiful Northumberland. I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend.
