Stunning views & grounds, tennis, large heated pool, boules, olives, dream house
Le Lauron is in the perfect location: private, quiet and secluded but not remote. Not overlooked, in a beautiful setting with amazing views, and only a short (15 min max) walk to the historic village of Bargemon with its shops (including butcher, supermarket, bakery, post office), bars, restaurants and weekly market. Easy driving distance to the coast, golf courses, vineyards (including Whispering Angel!), Gorge du Verdon, and many historic towns – and with good local cycling and walking options. –
Our house is unusually large and well equipped and has been beautifully restored to create a wonderful family home. For families and tennis/sports enthusiasts or those who just like to lie around in the sun, drinking rosé, it is ideal. There are wonderful areas to sit out for dining (vine and wisteria-covered pergolas) – where delicious, long and lazy meals with fresh local food and wine will provide memories for life. The pool which can be heated is unusually large (14 metres long) and has both a very deep end and a large shallow end so is ideal for families, teenagers and adults alike.
There are 5 twin/double bedrooms plus a bunk bed room adjoining the master bedroom. 2 master suites, 1 bedroom with en-suite shower and loo and 2 further bedrooms which share a family bathroom. In addition, for a supplement, there is a separate annex which can sleep a further 4. The large kitchen is extremely well fitted: 2 dishwashers, 4 fridges, 2 freezers, a double oven microwave and table seating 10. There is a further dining room, 2 living rooms, a Bluther piano and the house is filled with toys and games and 1000s of books.
The South facing house stands in 4 acres of meadows, olive trees, terraces and gardens enjoying superb views of the valley below and the surrounding hills. The garden is stocked with hundreds of rose, oleander lavender and rosemary bushes; cherries, figs, plums, apples and almonds all grow near the house. There is a stream running close to the house into the meadow below which also contains the tennis court. There's a boule pitch (boules provided), and table tennis table. The large 14-metre swimming pool is on the same level as, but separate from the house. As it is used as a family home it is not just another anonymous holiday villa but a comfortably furnished home. One of the sitting rooms has a log fire and the house has central heating for cooler months.
There are plenty of poolside sun loungers, 2 further separate outside dining areas.

we were 14 people with a range of ages 4-67 and had a wonderful week in this big house with a lovely pool and tennis court among other things. can warmly recommend renting the house for a family week. Madame Besson who received us was very nice and easy to get hold of during the week.
All 14 of us enjoyed the house and the surroundings so very much.
Beautiful garden and views to the valley.
The morning sun in the exquisite kitchen.
Walks to the village of Bargemon.
Thank you to Nicola and staff.
We had a wonderful week in this large family house. It is indeed brilliantly resourced, and once the supermarket shop was done we had very little desire to venture out. It provides beautiful Provencal vistas within a peaceful and relaxing environment- and memorable early morning yoga sessions around the pool. The steep walk up to the village is rewarded with a good choice of cafes, bars and restaurants, well stocked small supermarket and great boulangerie. Highly recommended.

50th anniversary
We arrived with a group of 16 covering 3 generations. We were not sure what to expect , but it could not have been better. The home and outdoor areas with various sporting facilities kept everyone entertained and tired.
The village was a delight- an easy walk early morning for warm delicious bagettes. The occasional meal in the village was great but much time spent a Le Lauron. We all enjoyed the well equipped family kitchen and the outdoor eating areas. Fred L'Anglais was a great help many times. The trips to Le gorge de Verdun and to the beach were easy and most enjoyable. A great family celebration. Anxious to return........ Brian Ayotte British Columbia Canada

A week in paradise
There is only one word for this place - fantastic!! We spend a week in the house together with two other families. Initially we had planned to do daily excursions but ended up every day staying "at home" not wanting to leave the place. The house is impeccable furnished. The pool is perfectly tempered, the tennis court has a very high standard, the boule a delightful treat. What more to say - visit!

Fantastic Family Friendly House
Our family holiday at La Lauron could not have been better. The house is very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The pool, tennis court and ball area kept all the adults and children entertained for hours. We can not recommend La Lauron enough, we will definitely be visiting again this summer.

Paradise En Provence
Wonderful holiday with group of friends and their families last August. A stunning house with beautiful interior, grounds and gardens offering seclusion and space for everyone. Fabulous pool, tennis court and petanque court for the active, or those more sedentary moments plentiful sun loungers with amazing views of the Var. Dining alfresco was a highlight in the shade of vines. Set below the lovely town of Bargemon, offering an invigorating walk up for coffee and patisserie or dinner. I would recommend Le Lauron to families or friends of all ages - we would definitely go back.

Fantastic relaxation for all
We have stayed on numerous occasions with two to three other families. The property is spacious and has everything you need to make it a relaxing and enjoyable week. The house itself is well laid out, giving everyone space to make their own. It's charm comes from the fact that it is clearly a much loved and well looked after family home. The new kitchen with everything you need, makes eating in very straightforward. I only wish I had as much refrigeration space in the UK. The large supermarkets are easily reached and the local village of Bargemon has the essential bakery, small shops and several restaurants & bars.
The pool is large and well looked after, with plenty of places to sit in the sun and the shade. That with the tennis courts, trampoline, boules and very large garden meant that the children can easily keep themselves entertained and allow the adults to have some peace and quiet of their own. The safety fence around the pool is reassuring when the kids are young.
Over the last few visits we have made some trips out to the Lac (pedalos and giant inflatables), the Gorge du Verdon (kayaking) and a local water park. More importantly, every year, we visit many of the local vineyards to decide which wine we like best. The holiday would not be complete without a few large glasses of wine on the terrace late into the evening.
I would thoroughly recommend this for all ages, there is so much to do if you want it and equally a great place to sit and read your book if that's what you need. It is a really special place.

Shh! Keep this one a secret - a fantastic holiday
We have stayed at Le Lauron on several occasions and always had the most marvellous holidays. The house is spacious and cool in the heat of summer. The bedrooms are well positioned so that you aren't on top of everyone else. The two sitting rooms are comfortable and relaxing. The kitchen is brilliantly equipped for cooking meals for large groups and it's so easy to access the shady terrace to eat. As a couple with young children, knowing the pool is securely fenced is a huge comfort. It's difficult to want to leave Le Lauron to explore, the setting is so peaceful and there are enough things to keep you occupied on-site - boules, tennis, swimming, playing the piano, sampling the delicious local rose - but if you do, there are lots of things to visit. The village has a wonderful, shaded square in which the cafes have set up tables & chairs. The village shop and bakeries/butcher mean easy, local shopping is available too. We have enjoyed wine tastings, the local goat farm and motorcar museum, as well as countless restaurants. Best of all though is a picnic up at Bargeme, a ruined church with views to die for. I would happily come back time after time.

Warmly recommended
From start to finish we had a very good experience. Owner was very friendly and helpful. The house was all we had joped for and more - very atrractive and with a beautiful location and grounds. We would completely recommend this as a top place for a holiday - whether you are active (swimming, tennis, table tennis!, boule, wandering around the grounds) or just sitting in the sun under trees or around the ppool. Inside there's good-sized bedrooms and a brilliant kitchen.

Highly recommended
We have stayed in many different holiday homes all over the world and on different budgets. My wife and I rate this the best we've ever been in. Given what's on offer, it's very reasonably priced. The facilities are excellent: top class tennis court, big garden, lovely big swimming pool, boules, table tennis and just lots of nice areas to sit out and relax. But the big difference here is that as well a a greeat outdoors, the inside is also fab. Very conpofortable; three reception rooms. Sky Sports on the TV (big bonus!) - and millins of books. Bedrooms are large and nicely done; there's wifi, and it's just a proper house done properly. Nice couple that look after the house, too, who were very helpful.

Gorgeous place to relax and play
Thank you for an excellent week in the sun. Beautiful house, very comfortable and spacious - like staying in a top hotel but with no one else getting in the way!
We loved the views ion particular; it is a magical location and we long to go back and have some more long lunches and afternoons by the pool.
One other thing thta other reviewers don't seem to have mentioned: the local village is really nice and pretty and has good restaurants. A nice option if you don't feel like cooking every night.
Thanks for a perfect week.

A brilliant holiday for everyone
We've been lucky enough to stay at Le Lauron twice and thoroughly enjoyed each time. Our first holiday there was with three other couples and we had such a fun time drinking rose around the table under the pergola outside, swimming, tennis, going out to Bargemon and visiting Draguinon. Our second holiday was quite different, with four babies, and was every bit as enjoyable - the children loved the pool, the house has every baby convenience you could need and we could push buggies up to Bargemon to potter around. Le Lauron really has something for everyone. The house is incredibly comfortable and I understand has been a home to its owners in the past, not just a holiday house - and this really shows. The pool is wonderful and the view stunning, and there is so much to do and see nearby. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Our favourite summer holiday!
We have stayed at wonderful Le Lauron a number of times and simply love it. It is such a characterful family house in a fantastic position with superb views and upon arrival one is almost instantly relaxed. The family have some lovely furniture and paintings and there are endless bookshelves with interesting paperbacks to read by the pool. It feels more like a home than a holiday house. We have enjoyed many happy long lunches and evenings drinking the local rose with our friends on the shady terrace. The recent addition of the boule pitch is a great touch. Le Lauron is situated just below Bargemon, which is an unspoilt large village and is a good walk up the hill and well worth wandering around - great little boutiques, antique shops etc and more fabulous views. St Tropez and the Gorges du Verdun are fun for day trips although we rarely move from Le Lauron now we have a young family who tend to spend all day every day in the swimming pool (super shallow end for beginners)! The gardens and pool are beautifully maintained by the guardien who is really friendly. I highly recommend staying here.

YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED
I cannot recommend Le Lauron highly enough: great location, stunning scenery, first rate facilities (swimming and tennis) and extremely comfortable accommodation. All this, together with very drinkable (and affordable) local wine makes the overall Le Lauron package hard to beat!
About the host
Hosted by Nicola Martin-Jenkins
This is our family home, and we have lived in it for 50 years – welcoming 100s of wonderful guests to enjoy its unique atmosphere, charm, views and location. We have spent many happy family holidays in summer, Easter and over Christmas and New Year (when it is also super cosy). We look forward to you having the chance to experience Le Lauron for yourselves or with your friends and family.
Why they chose this property
it’s no surprise the Var region has been so popular for so many centuries – for climate, scenery and ambiance, as well as for its easy air, road and rail access - it’s hard to beat. Our area is particularly beautiful and unspoiled. Le Lauron is really well positioned: an easy walk up to the beautiful and historic village - but at the same time quiet and private. Not on the coast – so less busy and not too hot in the evenings, but less than 1 hour drive away. Day trips to St Tropez, or just chilling at home – perfect for either! Close to numerous wonderful vineyards, golf courses, and historic towns – as well as the Gorge du Verdon, it enjoys an elevated position that gives amazing views of the surrounding hills.
What makes this property unique
Our property is unusually well-equipped, characterful and spacious. Private and quiet, yet a walk to the village with its many restaurants and shops. It has a great tennis court, boule pitch, unusually large pool (with big deep end/long shallow area), extensive gardens and outside areas to eat and relax - but what makes it stand out is the fact that it is a home filled with paintings, ceramics, sculptures books and games. Something that only happens in a house that has been lived in and loved for so many years.
Guests sometimes tell us photos do not do Le Lauron justice - and the setting and house is indeed truly magical.
