    Personable and kind host!

    It was lovely! Such a convenient location, it was walking distance from Queen Street Station (with luggage) and City Center Cardiff. The space was a nice size for my spouse and I to lounge, read and journal in the evenings about our exploring adventures. I loved having a washer. I only have one possible area of improvement: there were places under the new flooring that were uneven which made the floor feel less stable. That may just be a personal preference. Josh was so kind and welcoming and even provided suggestions of things to try! I am very grateful for finding this rental and would absolutely rent from him again!

    Due to the picture on the apartment’s page, I was under the impression it was close to the water. It is actually far from it. The apt. has two small windows; both face an old church. I would still give the apartment four stars but. The building is old. That could add to the charm but it is poorly maintained. The floors and carpet of common areas looked as if they were long overdue for a cleaning. In a lot of places, the paint and sometimes the wood was chipping off. The apartment was small but it offered everything one would need for a comfortable stay. Still, I found a wrapper under the bed that shouldn’t be there. Two of the pans I picked from a kitchen drawer had grease in them. Deranged drivers with ultra loud cars, creeps off the street, or from the construction - was there really a construction? - at the church across the street; they all made my stay really unpleasant. There were a lot of drilling noises. There was a lot of loud thumping, thudding and hammering. The undesirable neighbors from the apartment upstairs and the one from the apartment to the left, kept pounding the walls and ceiling at all hours. The woman that occupies the apartment to the left of the entrance door stunk the reception area with that fetid smell from that plant that retards human brains both when I arrived and when I was leaving. Though I wanted to experience Cardiff, I never felt safe leaving the apartment. I considered extending my stay but I was happy Josh never answered that message.

    I love living in Cardiff and grew up here. I know the city very well and have visited all the key sporting, entertainment, cultural and dining venues in the city, so am a great source of knowledge for a good weekend away. I used to play for Cardiff Blues U16's and pride myself on my Welsh (and other teams!) rugby knowledge too.
