Luxury house on the Wild Atlantic Way - Hillwalkers dream
Located on the Wild Atlantic Way on the beautiful Ring of Beara, one of Ireland's hidden gems. This house sits at the foot of the Miskish Mountains, ideal for hillwalkers and outdoor enthusiasts.
Enjoy a morning walk up the hill to the rear of the house, or a climb up the nearby Maulin Mountain or Hungry Hill. The fantastic "Beara Way" walking trail stretches the entire peninsula and offers walks for all ages and fitness levels, as does the many looped walks on Beara.
Gleninchaquin Park, which boasts its own beauty of woodlands, grasslands, mountain lakes and waterfalls is a short hour drive towards Kenmare direction. Glengarriff Natural Reserve and Bonane Heritage Park are within an hours drive of the property.
Located down a quite roadway only 4km from the fishing port of Castletownbere and 5 minutes drive to the picturesque village of Eyeries. Enjoy a feed of fresh mussels and a pint of Guinness at McCarthys Bar Castletownbere or at Helens Pub, Kilmakillogue pier.
The area is abundant in ancient historical sites such as Kilcatherine Monolithic Tomb, The Hag of Beara, Ballycrovane Ogham Stone, Ardroom Stone Cirlcle, Derreentaggart Stone Circle, Bere Island Martello Towers, Allihies Copper Mines, Teernahillane Ring Fort or the historical Mass Rock.
If you are looking for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle this location is beautiful and peaceful, with spectacular views of the sunset and of the stary night skies. This is a great base for touring the scenic Beara Peninsula, the Healy Pass, Bere Island, Glengarriff and Kenmare. Killarney is 87Kms ( aprox. 1.5hrs drive) for an unmissable day trip or visit to Muckross Park and Gardens. Other local points worth visiting in Beara include The Dzochgen Tibetan Buddhist Retreat, Allihies Village, Dursey sound and Irelands only cablecar, Dunboy Castle, Ewe Experience and Garinish Island, or take a trip Kayaking with the seals in Adrigole.
