About this property

A Theatrical Pied a Terre, Close to Absolutely Everything in Central London.

Located in the centre of Theatreland, perfect for London's finest restaurants, shopping and musicals. The British Museum, The National Gallery, Somerset House, The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera House are within a stones throw.

Although the apartment is quite amazing and great fun, we urge you to please study the photos and the details carefully, and try to imagine yourself staying here, as it is not a standard property, and it really does look like the photos, uncannily similar to a set for a Harry Potter movie, although it existed well before the movie was conceived, perhaps J.K. Rowling was an early guest.

Martlett Court is a safe, quiet, gated development on a pedestrian only street, it is recognized as a significant part of the Covent Garden Conservation Area and is considered to be a heritage asset.
Built on land acquired from the 11th Duke of Bedford in the 1890's with the intention of housing market traders and their families servicing the world famous and fast expanding Covent Garden Market.
The development has common courtyards and a large landscaped garden.

The original concept of this extremely unique flat was that of a well known restaurant owner who ran several successful and popular eateries in the local area. He bought the property and set about transforming it to suit his own immensely fun loving character, into his theatrical pied a terre in London, employing local artists to help him achieve his vision, a happy place, set aside from the hustle and bustle, where he could entertain his friends and family before a night at the theatre.

The River Thames and absolutely everything in Central London is within walking distance, you couldn't possibly be in a better location.

Please Note..

The apartment is on the 3rd Floor (UK) and is only accessible via a staircase.

There are soundproof blackout curtains as opposed to bedroom doors.

For health reasons, the toilet seat has been designed to be slightly lower than usual, less agile folk may find this a little tricky.

Everything else is pretty straightforward- (ish)

Best experience

The flat was lovely and very well situated. The owner of the flat, Tim, was an incredible host, very accommodating and easy to reach. I felt like I was staying at a friend’s flat. Thank you Tim for the best rental experience I’ve ever had.

Wonderful host and a stunning apartment!

Our stay was truly faultless and felt magical from start to finish, the apartment is so quirky and unique, plus we had everything we needed, in a perfect location. Tim was so thoughtful and helpful, and even prepared us a welcome hamper with food and drinks.Covent Garden station is just around the corner and with so many restaurants, museums, theatres and shops in the area, we were spoilt for choice. Also making the booking was very easy on VRBO!We cant speak highly enough about our stay and we will definitely be back again in the future! Many thanks and best wishes!

Wonderfully British Flat!

The flat is so charming and in an amazing location! It is definitely quirky but in a wonderful way. My 22 year old son made this his home while in London for 5 weeks. It was a bit cramped for my husband and I to join him for a few days, but it was perfect for one or two people. Almost everything you need is within arm's reach-it's in an excellent area with very easy walks to Piccadilly and nearby tube stations. A very cozy place that would be great for almost anyone wanting to stay near the heart of London. And worth mentioning that Tim was a great host, very communicative and easy to get in touch with! He was quick to respond to any issue that came up and was very helpful throughout the whole process, even helping to carry luggage up! I would highly recommend!

Exceptional stay, wonderful host and location, location, location

My adult son and I wanted a small apartment in London City area, in February near transportation and walkable to many destinations. We found this place on VRBO and among many choices it stood out. Check the listing photos--it really looks like this! We were in a quiet courtyard off two major streets. Beds, bath, kitchen were all top of the line. To say the location was perfect would be an understatement; two minutes walk to Covent Garden ten minutes from there to the Kings Cross transit hub. Everywhere we wanted to go was easy by bus, foot or train. Great access to food, pubs and theater.
