About this property
Riverwest Vintage Upper Apartment
This 2 BR duplex upper flat is located in Milwaukee's Riverwest neighborhood, and also features an office with a futon for additional sleeping and work space.
Centrally located just 2 miles north of downtown Milwaukee, this neighborhood is often called the "Brooklyn of Milwaukee". The residents of this neighborhood range from students to professionals. It has a particularly vibrant arts and music scene, and is sought after for its proximity to UW Milwaukee, the Milwaukee River, and downtown. This unit was completely renovated recently, including a completely remodeled kitchen and bathroom, and contains many vintage furnishings.
There is a private front entrance for this unit, and there is a garage space and one off-street surface parking space available for your use during your stay. There is also ample street parking available in front of this property. This apartment has a completely open concept layout, the kitchen features granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances, there is a dining area that seats up to 6 people, and there is a large screen TV in the living room. Both bedrooms have queen sized beds. Enjoy cable and WiFi during your stay, or use the vintage stereo to stream music. There is a basement laundry room with free access to a washer and dryer. Spend some time on the private balcony, that is furnished with vintage patio furniture, if weather permits. Although completely updated, this is a two family property that was built at the turn of the twentieth century & the sound barrier is not perfect. You may be able to hear the people or pets in the lower unit or in neighboring properties from time to time, and they may be able to hear you. Thanks for being courteous to the neighbors!
Riverwest is diverse, features great coffee shops, restaurants, bars, public transportation, parks, the Milwaukee River Greenway - all within walking distance or a short drive.
This property location is: * 8 blocks from the Brady St. entertainment district * 1 mile from the Oriental Theater - home of the Milwaukee Film Festival - and other entertainment options on the East Side. * 2 miles from downtown Milwaukee and Fiserv Forum * 1.5 miles (6 min by car) from the University of WI - Milwaukee * 1.5 miles from Lake Michigan
The kitchen has all you need to cook, and grocery shopping is 3 blocks away.
Guest access You will have access to the upper apartment in a 2 unit building, laundry room in basement, private balcony and 1 parking space in the garage.
Guest interaction There is a lock box for easy access upon your arrival. There will be an information booklet giving you some additional information to navigate the neighborhood, but I am available at any time to help with logistics and to make your stay an easy one.
Getting around This property is just 1.5 miles from I43. Located right on the #14 bus line which makes it a short, easy trip by public transport to downtown. And of course there is ample access for various ride sharing services.

Super location in a funky interesting neighbourhood that worked great for our group. Being able to walk to activities, several coffee shops, great food and nature with the paths by the river made this a winner. Being north of downtown was a bonus as we attended a Packers game.
Karen was great to communicate with. Area recommendations were excellent. Perfect spot for us to stay in Milwaukee. Great restaurants close by and neighborhood was fantastic.
Loved our stay here-great neighborhood with lots of local places to go for good eats and drinks. Having the bus line right outside the front of the house made it super easy to go downtown. Clean, spacious and well supplied with whatever we might need. Would definitely stay again!
Lovely upper apartment, really great furniture, clean and simple. It’s in a unique neighborhood— at first glance we felt a little unsure, but the neighborhood and especially the street we were on turned out to be quite safe and much closer to Lake Park and beautiful streets then we had thought! Great coffee and food nearby, super central overall.
It was in a good neighborhood. Just wish there wasn’t so many keys so it’ll be more simple for us to get in and out with not having to keep guessing which key go to which door. Most of the furniture is really worn out but for the price of two nights especially on a weekend. I can’t complain. Overall I had a good experience and the place was clean.
This property was perfect for our stay. Roomy and clean, lots of natural light. We felt safe in this pretty neighborhood, and staying in an upper level rental was great. We were only a five minute drive from the UWM campus, so getting my Freshman moved in was very easy. Additionally, having access to a garage was a really nice bonus. We'll definitely stay again, & highly recommend this property.
We were pleased with our stay. Neighborhood was nice, location is just minutes from downtown and all the sights we wanted to see. Apartment is clean and very spacious. Off street parking is a plus.
Apartment looks just like the pictures, very clean. Close to restaurants and activities. Only complaint is how many keys you get for all the doors, wish it was a keypad or same keys for all.
Had a great weekend in Milwaukee and the apartment was exactly as advertised. Clean, great location, easy parking, helpful host. Plenty of room for our family. Would stay here again.
We had a very nice stay at this property. Having the parking pad available in the back was great given the construction on the street out front. The place was clean and spacious. You can feel good about booking this property.
Older property but kept up well. Found all we needed in the kitchen. Location was fantastic for our purposes of catching bus and boat trips downtown!!
Street was relatively quiet for a weekend too.
Great place, wonderful kitchen and very responsive hosts. The property was convenient to everything that we did while staying in Milwaukee. The kitchen was well equipped. We encountered a problem while doing laundry, and the hosts had it taken care of the next day. I would want to stay here if it is available on our next visit to Mikwaukee.
We came to town for the RV Show at the Fairgrounds. We enjoyed our stay at the apartment which was as described in the listing. Everything was clean and well maintained. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. The grocery store was within walking distance. Communication with Karen was Awesome. We would stay again.
The property location was perfect for us, it was roomy and kitchen was big. The couch and chairs were comfy. It was so nice to have a garage to park in. The only reason for 4 star instead of 5 is because the bed was so uncomfortable. We are elderly, so it's probably ok for younger people. I suggest having a mattress topper available in the closet for those who need it.
At 1st appearance it was visually unappealing but it grew on us and it served the purpose. One small suggestion being the Host lives so close, turn ON the AC a few hours before guests arrival. We arrived at 3am and just wanted to turn IN but the apartment was about 80 degrees. Otherwise it was fine. Not the best neighborhood and the alley with the Garage was a bit anxious at 3am in the Morning (trying to find the Apartment, find the keys and locks, finally finding the garage and a way In. Avoid doing this After sundown.
A wonderful place with many nearby places to explore. 10 minutes to downtown!
We visited with intent to explore Milwaukee culture, music, food, and golf. A win in all categories. History abounds in nearby cafés, pubs, and shops. A diverse mix of people, places, and things. Downtown is easily accessed via local streets.
The unit is spacious, clean, and quiet with an air of European sophistication and simplicity. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything needed to host a large family dinner! Having a garage with opener was wonderful; we could leave golf clubs, et al. in the car overnight.
Our host, Karen, was responsive to questions and checked-in with us via Vrbo during our stay. She provided a property and neighborhood informational packet with links to local attractions. The checkout and clean-up process was simple, straightforward, and quick.
Highly recommend a stay!
We were looking for a property that was fairly close to our daughter in Brewer's Hill and chose this one (we needed a dog-free place for sleeping). While it wasn't within walking distance, it was just a short drive to get there. The apartment is very spacious and decorated with modern Vintage pieces that were fun to enjoy - plenty of seating. The apartment was super clean and well equipped with all we needed for our stay. The pictures of the property are accurate. We did not cook or eat there, but the kitchen is fully equipped (gas range, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and super deep sink) and with the beautiful large table, it would have been easy to do. There is a parking pad and one garage spot in the double garage (we just used the parking pad) off the alley. Keyless entry and well lit interior and exterior made it easy to access the building. We would stay there again and can recommend this property for others.
