Cool apartment in a convenient location

We really liked this apartment in Montmartre. It was clean, comfortable, has a great view and is in a convenient location. At first, communication with the property owner was great. However, the reason why it doesn't get 5 stars is because of a situation that occurred with the door and being locked out:We decided to go for a walk and get ice cream one evening. When we came back, the key wouldn't even turn in the lock. We tried everything to contact the owner and couldn't. Desperate, we called a number that had been taped to the door for a locksmith. While waiting for his arrival, the neighbor came and told us that those locksmiths were a scam, to cancel their service and that she would help. She tried contacting both the property owner as well and the caretaker for the building but was unsuccessful. She tried the lock over and over to help us get into the door (she said that "French doors are weird.") Finally after using brute force a few times, she got the key to turn in the lock and we got in. It was only after this point that the property owner called me back, apologizing and saying that she did not have good cell service. From that point on, we were leery of the lock.If the lock gets fixed, this really is a great property. But the experience of being locked out of our only place to stay for hours after everything is closed with 3 kids in a foreign country where we didn't know where to turn for help tainted our stay.

Stilvolle, ruhige, sehr gut ausgestattete und helle Wohnung am Fuße des Montmartre. Alles was man braucht findet man in unmittelbarer Umgebung, von öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln über Supermärkte und Bäckereien bis zu Cafés und Restaurants, alles direkt vor der Haustür. Wir haben es sehr genossen und kommen sicherlich wieder in diese wunderbare Wohnung!
