Step back in time in the Tennessee hills at the Starlite Retreat Cabin

Get away from it all in this traditional wood cabin in the hills of Tennessee. Peace and quiet above the historic town of Granville, on Cordell Hull Lake. Great views across “them thar hills” from the wrap around porch.
Located an hour east of Nashville this a great base from which to explore and enjoy Middle Tennessee.
Step back in time when you walk through the door into mid-century America. Drink coffee in a kitchen straight out of the 1950s. Relax on the authentic wagon wheel furniture with a cocktail from the vintage bar. Soak in the cast iron bathtub in the period tiled bathroom.
The whole cabin is yours and sits on 2 acres.
There is a hidden modern TV with satelite, DVD player and a Xbox 360.
The stove is a 1956 GEC Spacesaver but there is a microwave for those that prefer something a little more modern. There's also a kurig coffee machine and modern hair drier & iron.
Near to the small historic town of Granville on Cordell Hull lake. Miles of scenic drives around rural middle Tennessee. Local towns for shopping, eating & antiques are Carthage, Gordonsville and Cookeville. For more small town USA visit Gainsboro, Celina, Livingston and Algood. CenterHill Lake is 30 minutes away. Easy day trips to Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga.
You'll need an a a boat....
Lots of motorcycles travel around this area due to the beautiful scenery and sweeping rural two lane blacktop. I've even seen a bicycle on occasion!

This retreat back in the holler was undeniably peaceful and pleasant. Owner's of the property are friendly, kind, and respectful. The stay is very old-timey and an excellent place to reset and relax. The road to the property is loose gravel, our FWD prius made it with no issues but during wet or snowy conditions consider taking an AWD or 4X4.

Cozy Retreat

Everything was perfect. It brought back some fond memories to use some of the old appliances. Paul was a very gracious host and easy to communicate with. The location was beautiful and very relaxing. We will definitely be back!

A darling little cabin, perfect for spending time with friends and enjoying nature!

Checkin was easy and our host was very kind to leave us instructions about how to use everything in the cabin. The cabin was darling and perfectly clean! We loved the 50's theme - especially flipping through the magazines from the era that were available! So neat! We had a very short stay, but we would definitely return for a longer stay in the future. Nothing beats spending time with dear friends in the middle of Tennessee's beauty! Thank you for such a wonderful stay!

Charming!

We were hoping to find a cabin that was secluded so we could just unwind. Well this property delivered! The only sound we heard was the birds. The view is spectacular! We really enjoyed the porch swing! As someone who adores all things vintage I really appreciated the decor. No detail was overlooked! It was fun walking from room to room and looking at everything! This is by far my favorite property I’ve been a guest at!

We enjoyed the retro 50's decorating of the cabin. Very unique and interesting. A lot of thought went into it! The porch & porch swing were awesome! The road coming up was the only drawback, very steep & scary for a small car like ours. Everything we needed was there.

It was a beautiful cottage. Every part of the house was filled with retro things. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this house. The owner of the house obviously cares a lot about his guests, as there was everything necessary for a stay. Future guests should note that the access road to the house is quite difficult because of the high slope and small stones.

We liked staying here so much…. Cute 50’s theme with real antiques. Loved looking through some of the old magazines. Our only complaint would be the couch and chair…. Not comfortable as we wanted to relax in the cabin more than we usually would. But, all in all, this was a good experience.

Mother’s Day getaway

We really enjoyed this cute cabin for a Mother’s Day weekend getaway. My sister and I take our mom away every year and this cabin did not disappoint! The decor was very interesting! As another review said, it was a mix of June Cleaver meets Roy Rogers. We loved the 50s kitchen and the bathroom! There was a lot of cowboy decor. The wraparound porch was so nice and we enjoyed sitting out there. Anything you might need and more was available at the cabin. The owner left a letter with directions to things in the cabin which was helpful. Only complaints were the very uncomfortable living room furniture and the roads getting to the cabin. The directions to the cabin were easy to follow but pay close attention looking for the dead end sign near the road to the cabin as it is small. Also there was sketchy WiFi but we had been told about that. Be sure to screen shot your directions as the gps in my car worked one day but not the next. It was nice getting a social media break.We really enjoyed being close to Granville and 40 minutes from Cookeville. We would love to return here someday. A perfect stay!

Loved the vintage aesthetic of this rustic secluded cabin in the woods. Paul and Theresa were awesome hosts who proactively communicated with us about directions and quirks of the house. The beds were comfy and the porch was perfect for morning coffee. This was the perfect start to our Nashville weekend away.

We enjoyed the old fashioned feel and authentic vintage items in the home. I had a personalized note from owner upon arrival and enjoyed how modern touches were hidden in keeping with the vintage feel. Beautiful views and great wrap around porch. Owner gave good directions in a message and I still got turned around. He was very responsive to calls and messages. Hope to go back in the future.

Pure Contentment

Lovely stay in the Tennessee Hills with scenic views and deer. The outside wowed as much as the vintage vibe indoors. From a gorgeous Tennessee sunset to a foggy morning chill, we enjoyed it all. I loved making a delicious cup of coffee in the old coffee pot (they had three options for coffee making, so everyone can sip their warm brew), and my son enjoyed his first time grilling. Stepping back in time was such a treat. Cell service is patchy, but the internet works fine. Sighs of contentment...
