The apartment was clean, modern and had all the facilities we needed. The apartment block is slightly underwhelming but that should not take away from a pleasant apartment. The self check in was easy & great communication with the host prior to our visit. The area is multi cultural which makes it interesting. 5 minute walk to O'Connell street and about 15 mins to Temple Bar area.
Mutton dressed up as lamb! Very very old building with some interior badly done renovations. Washer very difficult to use. Dryer didn’t work at all. Terrible communication and lack of understanding from host. Left with three bags of wet clothes. Wouldn’t stay again if it was free!
The stay was adequate at first. It was not in the Temple Bar area as advertised so that was disappointing. There are SIX locked doors that you must get through in order to access the apartment. This was a problem as I was traveling with my adult children so we weren’t always together. Coordinating entering the apartment with just one key was very difficult. Someone broke the key in the front door so when we arrived at 11:30 pm, we had no way to get into the apartment. It was about 45 degrees outside and I was wearing shorts. We could not get in until someone who lived in the building exited-that was over an hour later. I sent emergency messages to the owner with no response. I would not recommend staying in this place.

Significant Problems
When we got to the property, it had not at all been cleaned from the prior guests. When I tried to contact the host, I kept getting automated messages until I contacted VRBO support. We had to get another room for the first night of our stay. After it had been cleaned, we still ran into issues. The first time anyone showered the water wouldn’t drain at all. I removed the plug and it was full of hair and debris. We unclogged it and were able to get the shower working. The provided hair dryer is also missing a piece and got my mom’s hair significantly tangled in it so she had to cut it out. Once the unit was cleaned, it was comfortable. Outside is a bit noisy with the windows open. The unit was quite warm. Location was easily accessible to O’Connell Street and other busy areas. I would not book again.
The space no longer matches the photos. There seems to be some cleaning and maintenance issues that have developed since the property was first made available. The faucet in the bathroom is loose and leaky, the shower drain does not drain so that you need to turn the water off mid shower to keep the bathroom from flooding. There was no air flow in the apartment and it was very noisy - both inside room to room and lots of street noise. The space was not clean - there was trash in the garbage cans and little bits on the floor. The bathroom surfaces were not clean, especially the corners. The response time for communication was slow. We had a difficult time requesting an early check in or bag drop. We messaged several times and ended up standing on the stoop for a while waiting for a message or a final decision as to whether we could check in or not.
This rental should not be on VRBO or be considered for human habitation. Badly done renovation inside of an entry way that has so many doors to enter that it feels like a prison. It is too loud, it is dirty and cluttered. There is a dying fern in one corner of the living room. There was no hot water nor any water at all in the bathroom. The host finally told us to go into the fuse box and turn the shower to “on”. This was the second day of our time there. We had already left and checked into a hotel. The dryer did not work. The top of the dryer was so full of clutter you didn’t notice it wasn’t plugged in. Once you dig thru all the mess you learn that even plugged it doesn’t work. I tried everything. There was a packed full lint trap so it probably burned up the motor. This place was a nightmare. Finally he refunded some of our money. I have to insist on a full refund. I hope any of you who have rented this place see this review in time enough to cancel. When we booked this there was only one glowing review. About a week before our scheduled rental date two bad reviews showed up. The host would not let us out of the agreement. Now there is another terrible review. Mine will be the 4th terrible review in a row and 4 out of 5. Do Not Rent this mess.
