On-road parking. No smoking. Please note: Step in garden.. Stanwix Cottage dates back to the 1650s and was originally the Stables for the old Coaching Inn which is now the local pub. Completely recently refurbished and renovated and is a real home from home and the ideal base for exploring the beautiful border city of Carlisle and further afield. Stanwix Cottage, whilst modest from the outside is a real Tardis with three lovely separate seating areas, a cosy lounge to the front, a comfortable living room/dining room and a delightful conservatory to the rear which overlooks the peaceful and private rear garden which is a real joy and the perfect place to sit and relax. Also on the ground floor is a very well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and upstairs there are three bedrooms, one with en-suite and a family bathroom. There really is lots of space for all the family at Stanwix Cottage.
Stanwix Cottage is in a quiet area of the city within walking distance of the city centre and only moments from some lovely walks around Rickerby Park and the River Eden. The wonderful Cumbrian countryside is just waiting to be explored from the historical site of Hadrian’s wall with its rich history and dramatic landscape, to the majestic mountains and lakes of the Lake District National Park. A short drive will take you over the border to Scotland where you can drive along the stunning Solway Coast. Beach 21 miles. Pub and restaurant 15 yards.
