Wonderful place to stay

Perfect newly converted property with everything you needed and more. The hosts were very responsive throughout and supplied a lovely welcoming pack including home made cake, flowers and local items. The property had been beautifully restored with high spec finishes and tastefully furnished. It was cosy and very comfortable. Bath tub in the covered secluded outside space was a plus as was the shared garden. Best place we have stayed in for many years. Can’t fault it.

Amazing weekend at Stonethwaite Barn

We absolutely loved our stay at Stonethwaite Barn this weekend! The barn is very spacious and stylish, with excellent facilities. I was especially impressed with the kitchen as it was kitted out with everything you could possibly need. We loved the garden area with the outdoor bath, this is a really unique feature. We enjoyed visiting the start of Hadrian's Wall at Bowness-on-Solway and had a beautiful walk along the estuary. We will be back!

Amazing Cumbrian Stay

Wow this place is amazing! We loved the style of the open plan kitchen/dining/living area and the covered outside seating area was perfect for relaxing in the evening. Being able to take the dog for a wander around the owners beautiful garden was just lovely & so peaceful. We took a cruise on Ullswater, had afternoon tea on a steam train at Bassenthwaite and climbed Catbells for fabulous views over Derwentwater, and all in glorious sunshine! The pretty village of Dalston, just a few minutes away, was very handy for shops and riverside walks. Thanks to David & Karen for being such great hosts; we can't wait to return and explore more of this beautiful area.

An outstanding dog friendly holiday accommodation

Outstanding stay at Stonethwaite Barn We had a fantastic week at Stonethwaite Barn, Cardew. The barn itself is absolutely beautiful and finished to an outstanding quality. The beds were extremely comfortable, making for a truly relaxing stay. The location is fabulous, situated just 5 to 10 minutes away from most local amenities while still feeling like a peaceful getaway. Having access to a private garden was brilliant, plus there is an amazing shared garden area available to enjoy as well. It is very dog friendly, though it is worth noting that while the private garden is enclosed, determined or very small dogs might still need a little supervision. A special mention must go to the host, who was incredibly helpful throughout our stay and made us feel like nothing was ever too much trouble. We would recommend Stonethwaite Barn in a heartbeat!
