About this property

3BR House, Central, Pet Friendly, Next to Café

Summary:

Nestled along the Quay Road of Ballycastle, our coastal cottages offer the perfect blend of seaside charm and modern comfort. Immerse yourself in the serene beauty of the Northern Irish coast, where stunning mounting views await. Each property sleeps 6, if both properties are booked together this would facilitate a booking of up to 12 people.

The Space:

These properties are located directly next door to each other which is ideal for large families or groups of friends who want to be close to each other, but also have their own private space. To book the other cottage you can do so by searching for Coastal Cottages Ballycastle.

Enjoy spacious living areas, cozy bedrooms, and well-appointed kitchens, ideal for preparing fresh local produce or enjoying a cup of tea with a mountain view in the spacious outdoor patio area. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or a solo adventure, our coastal cottages provide the perfect home base. Experience the beauty of Ballycastle and create unforgettable memories at our coastal cottages.

Location

The cottages are located next door to the award winning Thyme & Co Cafe which has earned a following for their delicious home-made flavours using locally sourced ingredients. The cottages are also only 5 minute walk from the beach, 2 minutes walk to a kids play park and are surrounded by many charming shops, traditional pubs, and award-winning restaurants. Discover local landmarks such as the iconic Ballycastle Marina or embark on scenic hikes along the nearby Causeway Coastal Route.

The Neighborhood:

Centrally located in the coastal town of Ballycastle on Northern Ireland’s scenic Causeway Coast. Ballycastle is a charming seaside town known for its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful harbour, and stunning natural surroundings. The property is just a short walk from Ballycastle Beach, a long stretch of sand with views across to Rathlin Island and Scotland on clear days. The town centre offers a great selection of independent cafés, traditional pubs, restaurants, and shops, all within easy reach. Ballycastle is also a gateway to some of Northern Ireland’s most famous attractions, including the Glens of Antrim, the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, and the Giant’s Causeway, making it an ideal base for exploring the wider coastline.

Getting Around:

Getting around Downings and the wider Rosguill Peninsula is easiest by car, as public transport options are limited in this rural coastal area. Having your own vehicle allows you to explore nearby villages such as Carrigart and Creeslough, visit surrounding beaches, and enjoy the famous Atlantic Drive. Within Downings itself, many amenities—including the beach, local pubs, and some restaurants—are within walking distance or a short drive. Taxis are available but should be arranged in advance, particularly during quieter periods. For those travelling from further away, Letterkenny is approximately a 30–35 minute drive and offers larger supermarkets and transport links, while Donegal Airport is around an hour away, providing regional flight connections.
