Town: Bembridge sits on the most eastern point of the Isle of Wight, and it is claimed to be the biggest village in England. Bembridge used to be an island in its own right, and until the Victorian era, was a collection of wooden huts and farmhouses, hence Bembridge remains somewhat detached from the rest of the island even today, which adds to its charm. Bembridge is considered to be one of the most upmarket areas on the island and offers a surprisingly busy intertidal sheltered harbour, which is always full of pleasure crafts and fishing boats providing a constant flow of traffic to and from The Solent. From the harbour you will find quiet beaches consisting of sand and pebbles, perfect for swimming, beachcombing and crabbing and in high winds you will see plenty of kite surfing activity. As you walk along Bembridge beach, you will discover the lifeboat station, cafes and the famous Crab & Lobster Inn, as well as the magnificent Culver Cliffs as your backdrop. The village centre offers a good range of small shops, with its award-winning butcher's and 'The Best Dressed Crab in Town' which is situated in Bembridge harbour, you can also sample local produce from the greengrocer's, visit the art gallery and much more; in fact everything you should need while holidaying here.

It was a great caravan roomy, clean. quite a distance from the activity area, not enough photos. All the activities had a charge, not mentioned in the blurb. I had to drive everywhere as we had 2 disabled adults with us. We didn't use the onsite facilties. We travelled around the island. A very rude and officious parking attendant greeted us at the Needles, refusing to let us drive up. We were made to pay 6.00. We eventually got up by bus to the battery and were greeted by their wonderful staff who could not have been kinder or more accomodating to us all. Free Disabled parking IS available at the Battery, a place can be booked via a phone call from the entrance. National Trust members are free. its amazing to see the needles up close. Delicious Cream tea calmed the nerves. We saw the fabulous bears, lions and tigers at Wildlife sanctuary, the Roman villa, Jurassic Jim's we ate lobster and paddled in the sea. On Friday sadly the Bembridge windmill and the bus coach museum were closed! So we'll be back. Love the isle of Wight, so much history and beautiful beaches. Thoroughly enjoyed our mini break.
