a lovely apartment in the heart of St.Albans.The description was good, everything we needed for our 2 day stay. enough space for everything. we were 4 people, including 2 children.Thanks.
We had a wonderful stay in St Albans. The location of the property is very central. The check in and checkout process was very easy and the host was extremely responsive to request and questions. The property itself is a bit weathered. There is no dishwasher and the cleanliness of the dishes shows this for sure. That being said for the price we paid I would consider staying again. With a fresh coat of paint, a refresh to the shower, and a better cleaner I would be be willing to pay much more given the location and kind owner.
The flat is in a great location - really great, actually - and exactly as represented (for good and for ill). If you've read the other reviews, you know about the four flights of stairs (which didn't bother us, but are steep), the not great shower and the noise at night from the pubs (and early morning market set up) - which is the price paid for central location. It suited our needs, which was just for beds, but on a warm night when we need windows open to be cool, the noise didn't make for a restful night.
Overall we were pleased with our stay. The location was absolutely great for getting the most out of St. Albans. It"s a thriving town with lots going on...with pubs and bars, on the weekand we experienced food markets and a fla market, what more could you want! We did find it a bit loud at nicht and in the mornings, but what can you expect from having a great location to experience St. Albans. The minor issues we had with supply of towels was dealt with by Elisa efficiently and with understanding. She was very open to our feedback und always acted in a professional manner. If we come again to this area, we will definately consider coming back.
Communication with Elisa was fantastic. She gave us flexibility to check in earlier and leave some luggage at checkout so we could enjoy our last day in the city. Only downsides I would highlight are that some kitchen utensils like bowls, cutlery and glasses needed re-cleaning before using ... And also soo many stairs from the street. Otherwise, we had an amazing time.

Liked: Check-in, location
Disliked: Cleanliness

This unit was very disappointing. It was visibly dirty in a number of ways - the bathtub was dirty, the futon was stained and had debris on it, the kitchen table was covered in a layer of dust and the refrigerator had a horrible smell- from being turned off with food inside and since it had been turned off, we weren't able to use it. We were able to use a fridge in a nearby unit but not convenient. The toilet was malfunctioning and didn't flush correctly. These are just some of the reasons I could not recommend this unit to someone else.
Perfect location for a an action packed week in St. Albans. Elise’s place was exactly what we wanted & exactly as stated. Couldn’t ask for a better spot. Easy check-in & check out & everything we needed. Just be prepared for the 6 flights of stairs if you have a lot of luggage, but essentially no big deal. We loved every minute of our stay & will be back for sure!
Stayed here for a week while moving between properties. The apartment is located perfectly in the centre of St. Alban's, ideal for access to all local attractions. It is nice and spacious inside - and very reasonably priced. The host was very helpful and quick to respond to any queries which was much appreciated. However there were 1 or 2 dissappitning issues - some that could be improved and others that are inherent limitations with the property. Firstly the property was very difficult to keep warm - this was exaggerated by a particularly cold spell, however the single glazed windows and old building design makes it difficult to retain heat. I appreciate there is nothing the host can really do to resolve this but just something to consider if considering a stay in the winter months! The other thing I was disappointed by was the overall cleanliness of the property. It was definitely in need of a proper clean all round, which certain areas particularly poor, notably the dining table and chairs, the glasses and cutlery and the main sofa. The bathroom is also rather cramped and basic, and as a fairly tall person I was definitely cramped in the shower due to the sloping roof.
Overall it was good. Location was perfect, right in the heart of town. Bedroom sizes were accurate and heating was great.Only negative is there is no dishwasher and most of the plates, glasses and cutlery were not clean when we arrived so I had to hand wash everything prior to using it.Elisa was very easy to communicate with and helped with any questions we had.
Wonderful stay in the most central Saint Albans location. With all conveniences on your doorstep. Gorgeous apartment with all the shops, bars, restaurants and historical sights at your doorstep.
